Edges Salon & Spa owner Mike Chammoury opened his first luxury salon and spa in the city’s northwest in 2002. “We decided, why don’t we just give them everything they’re looking for,” says Mike, referring to customers being able to access both spa and salon services at one location. “It’s upper-scale service in their own neighbourhood,” he adds.
With large windows, hardwood floors and pleasant treatment rooms, Edges Salon & Spa Downtown also features the addition of a chic, contemporary barbershop in addition to its large salon and spa. Keeping up with a trend that’s making a comeback, both of the Edges locations now feature their "Get Blown" luxury blow dry bars. “(Guests) can look their best for a very affordable price in half an hour,” says Mike.

I was on Yellow Pages looking for Edges' number and I saw a review for One Star?! I made myself write a review to make sure the people of Calgary didn't think this was a One Star place. Granted, the issues in the previous review had to do with the Salon and I've only used the Spa but I have only had incredible experiences with this business.
I have had numerous massages (all were relaxing, soothing and professional) but I have also bought a lot of Gift Certificates for friends, family and my wife (I have always had full confidence that they offer a perfect gift for Christmas, birthdays, etc). I even involved them on my engagement to my wife.
The atmosphere is very serene, relaxing and calming. The services are all done professionally and on time. The price point is very competitive, especially for the atmosphere and the level of service you receive. I fully recommend Edges Spa for anyone looking to have an incredible massage or looking for the perfect gift for a loved one.
I have had fairly decent experiences at the edges spa, although it is bit overpriced; However the salon is another story! I went in with blonde hair and just asked them to touch up my roots (which are dark) and put in a few foils. Believe it or not when the hairdresser finished my roots they were darker than my natural hair color!!! And if you think thats bad, she got offensive when I told her she didn't do what I asked for and that it needs to be redone. She tried to send me out the door with black roots and blonde ends! Finally, I told her I can't go home like this so she ended up bleach washing my hair which made my ends dry and brittle. This turned my roots an orangy brown. At this point my hair was too damaged to try and fix it for a few week so I just left. Oh and the highlights werent bleached properly so they were orangy and brassy too. I called in a day later and told them that I am moving out of town in 2 days and I am really not happy and the hairdresser herself has suggested I don't do anything else to my hair. Not only did the manager not give me a penny back, she told me I was wrong and that I was happy when I left the salon!!!! All in all I ended up paying over $150 at edges and then paying another$180 for color correction when I left town.
