Owner Paul Munro describes Pawsitively Natural Pet Food and Supplies as a health food store for dogs and cats. While the shop carries everything a pet owner needs to keep animals happy (toys, treats, leashes and beds), it also stocks high-quality, ethically produced pet food.

A large portion of the dog and cat food on its shelves is made in Canada using top ingredients. Be it brands of kibble such as Petcurean’s Now! and Go! and Champion Pet Foods’ Acana and Origin (made right here in Alberta) or raw foods produced by Canmore's Artisan Raw and Manitoba's Perfectly Raw, Paul is keen to give customers a detailed breakdown of the ingredients found in these foods as well as  their purported health benefits.

He is a passionate pet owner, too, and explains that his English bulldog is on a raw-food diet. “The food has 80 per cent of its natural moisture in it, so the dog will consume a lot less water,” he explains. “The dog won’t go through the cycle of dehydration and over-hydration from kibble. It’s better for the animal's organs.”

Further to the Pawsitively comitment to pet care, the shop doesn't stock vinyl or rawhide products among its toys and treats due to the chemicals used in processing them and potential for digestive problems. “We don’t want to ever hear about you buying a product from our store that caused your dog to be sick,” says Paul.
