A deffinate do-again

A fantastic restaurant. The service was top-notch. The waiter was incredibly knowledgeable and was a wealth of information when questioned. They were attentive to our every need and ended up making for what has got to be a world-class experience. The food was fantastic and the Chef even shared a complimentary corn soup antipasto with our table... again, it was fantastic! Thanks for your attention to detail and for the great ambiance!

Located in the stately Dominion Bank Building, its brass doors, high ceilings and marble interior are a fit for its exceptional dishes. A great place for a special occasion or pre-theatre dinner (Theatre Calgary is located across the avenue), here seasonal pasta dishes include seafood lasagna with fresh lobster, scallops and prawns and mouthwatering wild boar cappelletti with butternut squash pureé.

The former Dominion Bank Building on historic Stephen Avenue Walk has been home to Teatro for more than 20 years. Its grand, carved stone columns and ceilings tell the story of what it must have been like to be a bank customer in days of yore – i.e.: valued and respected. And Teatro serves its clientele with just that kind of attentive flair. Its contemporary Mediterranean cuisine features local, imported and organic ingredients as well as fine international cheeses. The lobster risotto is to-die-for decadence.

Billed as an “immobile food truck” dealing “street meat,” Carne keeps it simple with a menu of just three sandwiches, served on house-made bread – roast porchetta, spicy Italian meatball and alpine grilled cheese. All of Carne’s offerings are prepped in the kitchen of its upscale-Italian mother-ship restaurant, Teatro, ensuring these sandwiches are something special.
