Meet the owner

When it comes to candy, Gisele and Kathie have a wide range of rare options that can’t be found in your local grocery store. A destination point for many St. Albertans and visitors, Candy Bouquet offers a fun alternative to commonly known sweets.

“We have a lot of Dutch candy, salty liquorice and German chocolate,” Gisele says. “I recently ordered wine-flavoured chocolate-covered fruit from the Okanagan; we have the pinot noir cherries and merlot berries. They are delicious.” Gisele and Kathie make a point of looking for Canadian candy manufacturers, like Rogers Chocolate, whose products are proudly stocked at Candy Bouquet.

“There is nothing here you would find in the grocery store,” Gisele says. “We have products from the Annabelle Candy Company, Whatchamacallit Candy Bars, Payday, M&M Birthday Cake flavour. Anything interesting we see on our supplier list, we order in. We offer in-store tastings so you can see if you like it before you walk out the door.”

“British imports are one of our specialties,” says Gisele. “British ex-pats can’t find this candy anywhere else and buying it here is much cheaper than a plane ticket home. I’ve found that music and candy are powerful nostalgia inducers, so we like to provide that for people who have moved here.” Whether you’re longing for a yummy reminder of home or tempting your taste buds with a treat from afar, Candy Bouquet can help. “Our staff are wonderful and knowledgeable about our products,” says Gisele. “This really is a sweet place to work.”
