Meet the owner

“My family has been in the beauty business for a long time,” says Larry Wilkins, CEO and President of External Affairs. “My brother has been cutting hair for years and when this new thing called esthetics came along in the 80s, space at his salon was rented out by an esthetician. Mysterious women dressed in furs and delivered by Mercedes would walk into that room and come out looking great!”

With Larry's degree in the sciences and his wife Becky’s degree in nursing, neither thought the beauty industry would be a good fit for them. “After the Klein healthcare cutbacks, my wife was looking for work,” Larry says. “She went and studied to become an esthetician and became phenomenal at it. Her personality and direction has really grown this business and made it what it is today.”

External Affairs started when Becky and her sister, a hairdresser, opened for business in 1995. From there, they kept a close eye on technological advances and new techniques to keep their spa competitive with the larger markets in Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto.

    I love going into External Affairs for all my skin care. Their technology is so advance you can see how they can improve your skin to look your best. Becky told me what to expect and explained the whole procedure so I was able to relax. There were no surprises and I felt great when I left. I highly recommend all the staff at External Affairs. They are friendly, knowledgeable and very well trained professionals.
