Meet the owner
In the spring of 2015, George Morfidis departed from sunny Florida – and his career managing successful restaurants there – to relocate to rainy Vancouver, where he, along with long-time friends Bill and Chris Kerasiotis, opened Colony Bar's much-loved second location in Mount Pleasant.
The move was a no-brainer for George, who brought the summery, laid-back vibes of his former home to his new East Van hangout. Excited groups fill the tables at the Main Street bar most days of the week, catching up with friends over craft beers or watching the game while enjoying food, cocktails, and local and imported wines.
“It’s a fun, friendly neighbourhood watering hole,” says George, who points to his helpful staff, jovial regulars and talented chefs as contributing to the eatery's positive vibe. “We are like family,” he continues. “And like any family, we have a lot of personality.”
