Gateway College was founded in July 1986 as Community Professional Medical Careers Ltd. (CPMC). Equipment was purchased, premises were leased, curriculum was developed and the first classes commenced in September 1986. Continued growth led to the incorporation of CPMC in March 1989.An additional adjacent 1,500 square feet of office space was leased in May 1993. Planning to offer additional courses unrelated to the medical field, we changed the name of the college to Gateway Careers Inc. (GCI) in 1997.
