I always go for their omakase. Omakase is a menu where the chef prepares several dishes with the freshest ingredients that day. You should notify them of any food allergies. Their special sushi's are one of the best I have ever tasted! Especially their hamachi. I order the $60 one and it includes dessert as well as about 5-6 courses. It is a lot of food for me usually. I recommend first comers to try the omakase menu! It's really worth the try. The service is very good. You have individual tea pots and they are filled up with hot water often by the servers. They are very polite and friendly. They also explain the omakase dishes very well. It's a very small restaurant, so I'd recommend reservations for weekends. Overall, very nice small restaurant to go for great omakase.

A must-go place for all food lovers! The sushi...

A must-go place for all food lovers! The sushi chef's artistic and delicious rolls will blow you away. Depending on how you order it may get pricey. But When it comes to rolls no place can beat it. Because it takes time to make them if you go there on busy nights expect to wait for a while. However, once you eat you will forget it all.

Vancouver restaurants for an alternative Thanksgiving meal

Vancouver restaurants for an alternative Thanksgiving meal

This Kitsilano sushi spot doesn’t necessarily come with all the flash of other fine dining options in the city, but the cozy restaurant is renowned for its authentic Japanese cuisine. For a truly one-of-a-kind dining experience, make reservations ahead of time for the traditional Omakase tasting menu. Omakase literally translates as “to entrust,” which means head chef Sada-san will prepare a unique multi-course meal for your party with fresh ingredients. If you prefer to order a-la-carte, the regular menu features assorted maki rolls, tempura, sashimi and nigiri. Be sure to try the chef’s signature Nomu Uni shooter.

Where to eat and drink near Vancouver beaches

After admiring the gorgeous Vancouver waterfront, it’s time to sample the bounty that comes out of the ocean! Octopus’ Garden is a hidden gem near Kitsilano Beach offering a small menu of Japanese including sushi and sashimi. On-the-go eaters looking for a beachside snack can order sushi pockets – a handheld sushi sandwich with fillings such as spicy tuna, unagi tempura, and even foie gras! The restaurant’s main event is the omakase menu (chef’s choice); reserve this marvellous meal at least 24 hours in advance, and then prepare to be wowed.
