Within a year of opening, Pete's Meat has been hailed by Vancouver foodie's, a hot bed spot for special occasion orders and become a staple for a growing number of people looking for anti-biotic, hormone free and free range meat and deli products.
“High-quality butchery is definitely something that the modern food industry lacks,” says Pete Jenney, owner of Pete’s Meat Butcher Shop & Deli. “After working in the industry for a long time, I took a step back and rededicated my career to providing quality meat products to my customers.”
Founded in 2011, Pete embraced the idea of offering his customers local meat products that are free of hormones and medications. “Almost all of our meat is locally sourced in BC, specifically from the Fraser Valley,” he explains. “I think it’s very important for people to know exactly where their food comes from and how it was raised.”
Pete has a great deal of experience in the food industry. Before working as a butcher, Pete was trained as a chef. It was this experience that opened his eyes to the importance of cooking solely with fresh, natural food.
You'd be hard-pressed to find meat fresher than that from a deli born from a butcher shop. Pete's Meat is a butcher shop and deli with meats that are free from antibiotics and hormones and are free-range. Not only are you getting top quality, but you are also getting the healthiest versions of meats, cheeses, eggs and more. If you have a healthy appetite, homemade soups and crisp salads are available to add to your meal.
Pete’s Meat quickly became the go-to butcher shop and deli for both the discerning Kits locals and those from farther afield seeking free-range meats free of hormones and antibiotics. Whether over the phone or in person, friendly knowledgeable staff are happy to take your order. But why not stop in? Their sandwich counter and small tables are the perfect place to grab lunch during your weekend shopping errands and their growing selection of groceries means you’ll have one less stop to make.
