My expectations were OK for this place after reading the reviews below. I was even thinking of talking my friends out of going here but I'm glad I didn't. Simply Thai is actually pretty good. In particular, the pad thai was tasty. The "Simply Thai Gai-Yang" chicken dish was a little on the dry side. All of the dishes were around $12-16 so it was a little pricier than most Thai restaurants but not ridiculously expensive. They are in Yaletown after all. The service was quite good and the waitresses kept our water glasses filled.

Where to drink and dine during Taste of Yaletown

Where to drink and dine during Taste of Yaletown

Thai food doesn’t have to mean gorging from greasy take-out containers while binge-watching Netflix. Trade those sweatpants for a pair of jeans and head to this Hamilton Street eatery for a traditional Thai meal. The four-course menu starts with a tasting plate (your pick of chicken satay or cho muang dumplings) followed by tom yum soup. For your entrée, choose from massaman curry, gra paow or pan-fried pad Thai. For dessert, nosh on banana fritters with ice cream. At $35, the special menu might be a bit pricier than your usual take-out order, but it’s worth the splurge.
