I brought my Panasonic lumix camera in and they told me i needed to leave a deposit of $50 for them to look at it and get back to me in 2 days as to a final ëstimate". After a week, I never heard back". I came in a week later, the camera was apart and no estimate or source of the problem. I took it back...in pieces!!!
I've heard good things about VCS but was surprised how poorly I was treated.
I brought in my working Nikon D90 to have the broken LCD screen replaced. I paid the extra cost of impact damage diagnostic fee of $50 which was fine, and I received a call back a few days later and was told there were some stripped screws, due to someone else trying to fix it prior to them, but they could replace the LCD and cover for $200, and asked if I wanted to go forward. I said yes, and waited another few days
I am not impressed with the way Victoria Camera Service runs their business. Also I have learned a lesson. Check the internet before venturing into an unknown business. I learned two things on the internet subsequently (unfortunately). I found many similar complaints about Victoria Camera Service on the internet and also that I could likely fix the camera myself for much less money than they demanded.
They demand a $28.00 which often may not be justified. Never recommend them
