Black tea, green tea, white tea, Oolong tea, herbal tea — with a hundred different loose-leaf tea blends, Angelic Teapot in White Rock offers something for every tea lover’s taste.

Angelic Teapot owner Maureen Coroliuc and her husband Jeff are huge tea drinkers and they credit tea with lowering Jeff’s stress level (he works as a fire chief in Vancouver in charge of several fire halls). They believe there are a lot of health benefits to tea, which contains antioxidants and helps with stress, digestion and has anti-aging properties. But drinking tea also has to be a pleasurable experience.

“Start with a tea you like because all tea is healthy,” Maureen says. “Drink a tea you enjoy — don’t just drink the latest fad.”

Maureen’s taste changes with the seasons — in the summer, she prefers fruity tea, in the winter, she gravitates more to the spicy teas. Jeff’s favourite tea is the most popular tea in the store — Cream Earl Grey. The second most popular tea at Angelic Teapot is Raspberry Rooibus followed by Green Tea with Jasmine.

Different age brackets enjoy different teas, with older customers going for traditional English Breakfast or Irish Breakfast teas. Middle-aged customers like the spicy teas like chai, and the younger generations seem to prefer flavoured teas and anything with fruit, Maureen explains. Angelic Teapot carries its own brand of tea, blended specially for them.
