Last night our son treated us to dinner at your fine resteraunt before we attended the concert hall. Our dining experience was nothing short of excellent from the moment we arrived. We were warmly greeted by a member of your staff and taken to our table by the manager in your elevator as my wife can no longer handle the stairs. Our meals were excellent and the service we received was outstanding and genuine. This was not our first visit to your dining room but it was definitely our favourite.

Experienced during Dine About Winnipeg

Tried Bailey's for the first time during Dine About Winnipeg 2011. I had been warned that, in previous years, Dine About participants had felt rushed to finish and leave; the feeling was that the restaurant wanted to "make room for higher-paying patrons". Despite this, I didn't want to be biased, so I wasn't too sure what to expect. Seeing the older, formal décor (coats of arms along the dark wood wall?!), I felt a little underdressed... but many people around me were dressed VERY casually (maybe an artifact of Dine About?). I ordered the California mixed greens with popyseed dressing, strawberries, mandarins, and blueberries, which was fine (though they went quite heavy on the thick creamy dressing). My entrée was the New York Steak Royal stuffed with crab and topped with béarnaise. I found the steak a little tough (despite ordering medium-rare), and the crab seemed like it came from a can. The mixed vegetables and potatoes served alongside were quite tasty. Dessert was a chocolate cup with strawberries in Cointreau, with "crème Anglaise" (it was definitely whipped cream) and caramel and raspberry coulis. This was my favourite part; the presentation was stunning. Our server was nice, but not very present... we ran out of water multiple times, waiting for him to refill it for us. Overall, the meal was nice... but it didn't really stand out in my mind as a memorable meal. I may return to try the standard menu, which looked tasty and apparently garnered good reviews (above).

Greatest dining in 30 years

Went there wondering. but no more! The service, food. atmosphere was fantastic. We find it hard to get all three in recent years, but Baileys outdid themselves! our waitress "Angel". truly was. We started with a liter of their house wine, escargot and a rib starter. Great! the salad was fresh crisp excellent. I had the Steak garlic prawn combo and my wife had the shrimp dinner. BOTH WERE EXCELLENT. The service was impecable and the atmosphere great. If there was a 6 Star dining place this would be it. THANKS BAILEYS FOR A GREAT EVENING
