I have been to Emel on several occasions and have loved every single haircut she has given me. She is really good at seeing your face and working with your bone structure to frame your face and to help you look the way you want. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair!
I walked in and immediately felt uneasy about getting my hair done there. Emel greeted me and handed me the hair cut style book and a colour choosing book and told me to look at them, choose what I wanted and wait. I thought this was weird as this is normally done together with the stylist. While I was doing this, she took a walk-in before me, so I had to wait, and I had an appointment! She finally took me and didn't listen to me at all; she just had her opinion and didn't really listen to what I have to say. She charged me tax on my Groupon before she did anything to my hair. I told her a couple times that I only want an inch off and not to cut my bangs short. When I told her what colour I wanted the highlights to be, she said I couldn't do that and then continued to tell me how gray I was and how old I looked...I was almost in tears! She finally did the colour the way I wanted, but only after I told her I didn’t want to pay any more than I already had. The colour is the only thing I like about my hair. She then took another walk-in and forgot about me. I was so scared my hair was going to fall out if she left it any longer. Finally 15 minutes past when she said she would take out the foils, she had someone else wash my hair...her boyfriend or something, not a stylist or hair dresser. Then I sat with my hair wet for a while waiting for her to finish with her other client. And it was cold. When she finally got to me, she cut my hair way too short, didn't blow dry it fully, so when I left I had wet hair in the cold. It's not even cut straight and it's way too short! Normally I would go back and see if they could fix it, but I’m scared to go back.
Hairstylist was very friendly and attentive. She really listened to what I wanted to have done and did not take off more inches then what I have experienced in the past at other salons. I got 6 foil's for highlights in a creamy carmel colour which turned out perfect. All in all, I was able to walk out of the salon getting exactly what I wanted.

This is the best haircut I've had in years, and getting lots of attention too! Walked into the salon after buying a deal off the internet, the hairstylist there took me in right away, I just asked her to give me an up to date hair cut wasn't really sure what I wanted. We had a great conversation, she's hilarious and before I knew it, had a great new style. I've definitely found my new hairstylist! Will recommend to all my friends! Otherwise the salon was looking great to and the best part is they have free haircuts after 5 paid ones, no where does this anymore!!
Worst experience of my life. She cut off 4inches of my hair when I asked for half an inch and almost gave my blonde highlights when I asked for light brown. It is only because I told her to take them out that I didn't end up with white highlights. Thank god I didn't let her near my bangs. I would never ever recommend anyone to go here. She was rude, the salon was soooo dirty with her wax machines looking like they boiled over a month ago and were just collecting hairs ever since. The aprons were dirty and the floor was covered in hair and garbage. I don't even know how this place is still open.
When I sat in the hair dresser chair and saw the lady next to me crying while an inexperienced young man ripped the foils out of her hair that should have been my cue to RUN! Being optimistic I stayed. I had a coupon for a colour, foils/highlights, cut, wash, deep conditioner and blow dry. The hair dresser coloured my hair and put highlights in. She left the dye in way too long. I have natural brown curly hair with a bit a grey. I asked for a for brown dye job with subtle Carmel colour for the foils. When the foils were taken out my hair was White not carmel! I asked her if she could fix it. She told me it looked great and there was nothing to fix. I had asked for a trim but she cut 4 inches off my hair and totally changed my style. It looked very unflattering for my curly hair. I called the salon the next day to see if there was anything that could be done about the colour of my highlights. She told me to come into the Salon. The hairdresser put toner in my hair but completely missed the big 3 inch patch of white highlights. She also didn’t fix the roots she had missed the day before that were still obvious grey. My highlights were literally falling out in my hands they were so brittle. The hair dresser told me to not brush my hair for 2 weeks and put in leave in oil treatments. I would not recommend this hair salon. If you still decide to go after reading this comment. Please check if she is a licensed hair stylist. I didn’t see any credentials anywhere in her salon and I wonder if she is even licensed.
I should have read the previous review before making an appointment with Electric for Hair... I had a coupon that was $39 for three foils, haircut, wash, scalp massage, stye and blow dry... I got six extra foils while there and no haircut... The hairdresser didn't have much experience with curly hair, so she used a brush to come it out after washing it, but didn't even get the knots out, then started drying it while it was all tangled... I asked how she was going to style it and asked if she could straight iron it, but she said it would cost extra... so I told her just to leave it as it was all poofy and knotty thinking I would try to get home to wash it and do it myself before I had to go to work. I ended up paying over one hundred dollars, including the coupon, which is how much I have paid in the past with no coupon... She called me about 30 minutes after I left inviting me back for a free flat iron, which was supposed to be today at 9:30. When I showed up for the appointment, the door was locked and no one answered the phone...she finally called in the afternoon to apologize and try to reschedule, but I declined.
Had a coupon for shampoo,haircut,scalp massage,hair color,blow dry,style & facial waxing. Also had low lights put in for additional cost.
Does not know how to treat naturally curly hair. Consulted me with regards to the color, expected something fantastic from the way the stylist was talking. Did not cover the greys. No consultation on cut, no style and blow dry left my hair still damp and was very frizzy, will have to now go to another salon to get grey coverage and hair cut. Double dips on the waxing and I can do a better job at home with the waxing and $20 hair dye from a pharmacy. Very expensive. Would not recommend.
