Noticed some negative comments but still wanted wanted to experience as the the restaurant has been part of the Food Network and then recent Indian cooking show Masala Magic Recipes by Chef Ahluwlaia of Dhaba restaurant dragged our gut feelings to the aromatic cooking of this Indian gem hidden on the 2nd floor. Very well served and very satisfied with food quality backed by personal touch of professional service.

Rating says it all - We were happy with the quality of the food and service provided. My husband is very picky, when it comes to good Indian food. If he is giving 5 stars that means more than something. Bravo Team Dhaba! We will see you around in next few weeks. FRST

    Terrible service and horrid food

I tried the lunch buffet. Food was okay; but cold. The stoves were not working. Brought this to the attention of the manager and he seemed offended and suggested that we mix up the food before serving. I mean Hello .... the stoves are not working ... mixing won't help ... but he didn't budge. Maybe he was having a bad day :) Kept running out of items ... naan / chicken tawa / curries. Had to tell them multiple times to replenish. Instead got a discourse on how late it was (it was 2 pm and the restaurant was open for buffet until 2.30 pm at least) and that they are trying their level best. This seems like a pattern with many Indian places ... staff will never apologize and correct the situation; but try to give you 101 reasons to justify their actions without even thinking about how ludicrous they sound. The manager had a very bad attitude. Guys ... I dont care if an award-winning chef prepares your food or if you were featured on the Food Network; All I need is good food; served without an attitude and if it is not too much to ask, a smile :) 309 Dhaba ... you just lost my business.

Butter chicken was great mixed together with the rice. It was just a little bit spicy. The waiter was friendly, but we lingered to long then our waiter was replaced with another who wasn't as friendly. They did refuse to seperate our bill at the end of the night, which wasn't cool. Aside from that it was a great experience.

    Food okay, price not

I was given gift certificates for this place so I had 2 dinners at Dhaba. First dinner we ordered the onion Bhaji, Lamb vindaloo, chicken (tika masala?), naan, and rice. The food came quickly and the onion bhaji were very good. The rest of the meal was not as impressive. First, the portions were fairly small compared to other indian restaurants. Second, you would think after the waiter said 'you like the spicy dishes eh?' that the vindaloo would be spicy, but it was not spicy at all. Overall the dishes totally lacked the spice that I'd like from indian food. The second meal I had there we ordered some other dishes, which were even blander than the first time around. Also, the appetizer we wanted was apparently not available that night. The atmosphere and service was quite good, with nice touches like hot towels and a shot of mango lassi at the end, but it's not worth the $40 per person price tag that you're stuck with. For good indian food go somewhere else. Take your kids or old people here.

what have we done to deserve this?

I cant say this is the worst indian food I have had in my life, but its pretty much up there. The food was not adequate in quantity and the quality was NOT good. The chicken clearly was not too happy to be made into such a non tasty meal and the people there to serve clearly want to sleep. Conclusion- save the trouble, go somewhere else or maybe just fast, and spend you 20-40 bucks somewhere else or maybe on that "thing you love" (quote old spice ad).

Enjoy the clay oven baked main course after delectable appetizers. When you move onto the dessert portion of your meal, you will wonder why this is your first time at Dhaba. Open until late night hours, you can enjoy fine Indian food either before or after heading to the theatre. Keep an eye on their events page for live music and entertainment.
