Great place great food served hot and friendly staff

I spent almost two months on a communications contract in Cambodia a number of years ago and learned to love real Chinese cuisine. Back in Canada immediately afterwards, I could not easily stomach North American cooking and went to China King for the first time. I survived the transition because of their authentic Asian cooking and have settled on their style ever since at least a dozen times a year for the past 23 year! Thank you to Sean and his Father.

I would give this restaurant 6 stars if i could. This is by far the best chinese food that i've ever had. We even drive in from Hamilton to dine in. Recommend the Moo Shu Chicken and Beef /w Black Bean Sauce - they know how to do beef here!

Wonderful food.

I have not eaten at China King, but have ordered take-out many times in the last year and a half, once delivery, and have found the service and food to be extraordinary. I always laugh a little when I look at bad reviews -> have to wonder what people ordered. The food is fresh and plentiful. If you order a lot of deep fried and greasy stuff, that's what you'll get. If you order lovely stir-frys and fresh veggies and meat, you will never be disappointed!

Love Biker Night!

The first time my husband and I went we loved it! The food was good and the service was great! The second time we went I didn't enjoy it as much. I am not sure if it was the quality of the food or the fact that they guy next to us was smoking a cigar. Made my stomach turn and its hard to ride a bike with gut rot!

Great Place!

I came to this place with a friend of mine and we really enjoyed it! The place is family owned, and everyone is very nice and friendly. It is a really big restaurant, with lots of room. The decor is a bit outdated, and they still have decorations up from Christmas, but that doesn't really matter when it comes to the food. The food is hot, fresh, and cheap! We ordered the fried wontons to start, and they were delicious! The dipping sauce was fabolous! It came out really quickly, within at least five minutes of us ordering. Then we got our main dishes, the orange chicken and the shrimp. They were both really good, cooked to perfection with just the perfect amount of the flavour. Each dish came with a side order of rice. I have to admit, the rice wasn't enough because I was craving more! For two of us, our bill came out to $28, which is really good considering we ordered two main dishes and an appetizer. I will definitely be back, the staff is friendly, and the food is really good! I recommend you try it!

Enjoyed the food, Duck was wonderful. I will definitely visit China King again. It was fresh, hot and delicious. Service was quick and quiet. I would say this is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Brantford.

This place has the Best Food in The Brantford Area with out question...The food is VERY HOT, and i think the take out is better then actually dining in..

What happened?

I saw all the great reviews on here and thought it would be a good change from our usual takeout from another Brantford establishment. It was not good. It was definitely my least favourite chinese ever. It wasn't just me either - my husband complained. My 3 1/2 year old did enjoy it - he smothered everything in plum sauce. We ordered it for delivery - they said an hour but they were there in less than a half hour - which is good, but still not what they had said, which I had banked on.

Authentic Chinese Food

Fantastic food! Service is incredibly fast [we had all of our five dishes within maybe 10 minutes of ordering] and the food is authentic Chinese [I've spent 3 weeks in China and the food is very comparable to what you would get there]. I definitely plan on going back!

Moved here from GTA a few years ago and restaurant was highly recommended. Service is great and fast. Best hot & sour soup I've ever tasted. So many delicious selections

what happened to this place, are they cutting back portions cuz of the recession. We also got one dish at a time 10 minutes apart...what a way to ruin your appetite that manager needs to learn some table manners..

We ordered take out, and it took 1.5 hours, the food was so gross, and very cold. The Almond Soo Guy was rotten and when I called to let them know of the poor food and service, I got a credit of $13.00, they would not refund, even though I offered to return the food. DO NOT order from this place, 4 out of 8 of us were ill afterwards--with the runs :-(

Amazing Chinese Food!! Nothing else compares!!

China King is an amazing restaurant, it has some of the best selections of chinese dishes around! With a wide range of mild to spicy tasting dishes there is always something new to look forward too! I love the choice of spice they add, my favorite their famous 20K and also the Kung Pao Chicken. They also have the best springs rolls ever!! You can't get better service the staff is always friendly, attentive and well organized!!! Cheers to China King Staff on a great job! I am definately a regular and go once a week! I have to have my China King Fix!!

LOTS of food to take home.So really, we get 2 delicious meals of out our order. The service is attentive but not annoying. The staff is friendly, helpful and almost make you feel pampered because you never have to ask or wait for anything. The food is always good and if you're not sure they can offer suggestions. A hidden jewel on hiway 53!

When we worked in Brantford, we ate at China King often and considered it the best Chinese food in town. We don't often get to Brantford anymore so this was our first visit since they moved from their old spot to this much larger location in the former Danny's Ho Ho. Food is still excellent with friendly attentive service. Definitely worth the trip to Brantford.
