June,19,2011 Father's Day my treat(my pet racoon stays at home-it's dad's day LOL). My son took me here this is my first time at the Keg. Busy had to wait in line, the young lady seated us and my son ask her give my father the best you got for it is our first time here. She said the Prime Rib is #1 and the kegs salad dressing you have to try(told Walmart sells it). We order 2 Prime Rib with baked potatoes, fresh cut vegg and 2 side salads with keg own dressing, 2 beers and water. Oh my the Prime Rib is too thick looks 2" thick with bone in it, Juicy and red inside the cut of meat I like it, Food is top notch and salad was great, told my son "Go to Walmart find the Keg dressing". Best Fathers Day dining out, my son paid the bill he's rich with that race horse he owns at woodbine track.
Every year I receive gift cards from work for the Keg. Every year we decide to be very simple and order what they do well, which should be steaks. Every year we are somewhat disappointed. First off, the atmosphere is horrible: loud music, tv's all over, birthday sparklers smell like a welding torch when they go by. But we were determined to eat well. Rare tuna app was not very tasty, extremely bland from what I've had before. Two sirloins were ordered. My sirloin oscar was very good. My partner's sirloin & shrimp was tough even though it was cooked to her liking (medium rare). The waitress did well enough, even provided a very good salad at reasonable price when we were told no veg comes with dinner, but then asparagus appeared on the plate. Next time we'll try the prime rib. We've had excellent prime rib at The Lakehouse and Zorro's so I hope we're not disappointed one more time. Would never go here w/o the gift cards. Maybe it's time to give these gift cards to the kids.
I must say that I have never been disappointed at the Keg. It couldn't matter if it was 20 years ago or if it was the other day when I was there. The food and the service is to die for. Allot of Restaurants should go to the Keg and sit there and watch to see how things are suppose to be done. Then go back to your own restaurants and execute what you saw. Keep up the great work !!!!
Wow, I can't believe some of the other reviews. Our visit to the Keg was terrific! I must say it didn't go without it's events though. My girlfriend's baked potato had a huge rotten area inside. This happens sometimes with potatoes, but it was still discusting. We showed the waiter and he apologized and offered to bring another, which she declined because it ruined her appetite for potatoes. The steaks we had were unbelievably delicious though. So tender and lots of flavour! Although my mother (who doesn't really like steak) said hers was tough, she mentioned it to the waiter and they brought her a new one. (I tried her steak and it was fine, I don't know why she thought it was tough. And I consider myself picky about how my steak is done). The poor waiter was running around trying to make the situation better for us. As a result, my girlfriend, and mother got their meals for free, AND we all got free desert. It really was amazing, since except for a couple things (that weren't really their fault) we all had a good time and left very satisfied. The waiter deserved the big tip I left him.
We arrived and waited for 3/4hr with a drink at the bar, Shown to our table, the waitress took our order, so far so good, then a party of loud drunken birthday celebrators arrived and everything went down hill from then. Our waitress was friends of the party, either before or when they arrived, she sat at joked around with them, and forgot everyone else she was serving. Salads arrived, three minutes later the steaks arrived, both deliverd by different waiters, the salads were not crisp but soggy, the steaks and the bake potatos were cold. Where was our waitress all this time? laughing and sitting with the Birthday party, finally we saw someone pass by and called the over, I complained and the food was all taken away and then we waited and waited, 45 mins, no sign of our meal , we got up and left. As we were leaving one of the hostess asked if we enjoyed our meal. I asked her what meal and left! I think that since The Keg moved and got much bigger the place has gone down hill . If I ever return to The Keg again it will not in Burlington.
Originally went in for the rib steak (you know, the good one with the bone), but alas they no longer have that, BIG mistake Keg. As for the prime rib, we had a better one at a chinese buffet. Are their meals getting smaller, because I swear I was served more plate than food? Shame, because at those prices there should be no complaints. Good-Bye keg
This is not the first time at the new Keg location, been there many times and honestly never had a bad meal and I'm a very picky eater, the ambiance is really nice, the food is always good and the service is impeccable, they really do care about you enjoying your experience, so if you have a complaint I'm sure they'd love to hear it. Granted the waits are always long, and I'm not crazy about the fact that they never take reservations, it's still always good and the prices are reasonable for what you get.
I don't know why this place is so busy. The food was okay, but not for the prices they charge. We went there for our anniversary, but won't be back.
I tried a steak and lobster special they had. It was awful I could not remove the lobster from the shell because it was so overcooked and the steak was really tough and tasted awful.
I really liked the restaurant when they moved, but it's really gone down hill. The appetizer was burnt, the steaks raw, and just not good enough for these prices.
It was too much money to spend at an overcrowded bedlam infested restaurant when you're just looking for a good meal. The food was okay-ish, but not when you'e spending this kind of money. There's a lot of nice restaurants that I will go to next time.
We don't go to expensive restaurants often, so this was a real treat! The food was excellent and done exactly as ordered. It was very busy and service was somewhat slow, but acceptable. The 'new' Keg is lovely and the atmosphere exceptional. A very lovely treat!
Its the second time at the keg in a year and the meal was below average again. The streak was pinty and the lobster was slimmy and sick looking. The mojito was all sugar and easily the sadest attempt at a drink I have ever seen. Our waitress Diane was excellent. She was the only bright spot in the whole experience. I'm sorry to say that was my last meal at a keg.
We started with a $10 appetizer from their special summer menu. It was supposed to have lobster in it, but was really butter, cheese and bread. We ordered wine but it was out of stock so we had to order a more expensive bottle. My husband had the steak which he said was "okay" but no better than we bbq in the backyard. I had the salmon which was so overcooked I sent it back. When I ordered it, I asked for it on the meduim rare side and the server said they always cook it like that. They brought out another one that was so raw that it could have been sushi! The waiter was rude and the manager not much better. We won't be back!
Another dantastic dinner at the Keg! Totally worth going to !! Amazing food!
The steaks were amazing. Absolutely the best steak I've had in a while. We will definitly go back to the keg.The atmosphere is also great. Very nicely done!
Love it here. Beautiful inside. Food as usual is terrific I am a big fan of the KEG!
Wasn't sure what to give this for a service rating as I've had many different experiences here. The food is almost always excellent. With the exception of having a few "fatty" steaks from time to time (but that's expected). The potatoes are always great, the bread is always warm and the salads are quite good. Unfortunately the service has almost always been lacking. I used to frequent about once a week until they treated me very poorly on my birthday (of all days). We went in with a large party (of ten) and arrived approx. 5:30 pm, yet we were not seated until the restaurant was almost cleared out at 9:45 pm. They did not even offer us anything to compensate, such as a free drink or a free appetizer. This was so offensive, being a regular at this restaurant, that we have taken most of our business elsewhere. Recently we have had some good experiences but we are definitely not regulars anymore and don't plan on becoming.
