A chocolate cake filled with kirsch-soaked cherries, topped with whipping cream & chocolate flakes, and decorated with maraschino cherries.
Black Forest cake
A traditional favourite that includes sultana raisins and is frosted with cream cheese icing. Can be made using a dairy-free icing.
Chocolate ganache cake
Chocolate layer cake filled with whipped chocolate ganache, covered with butter cream icing and then decorated with chocolate ganache drizzled over top a definite hit with chocolate lovers.
Dutch Almond filled torte
A shortbread-like flan filled with almond paste that has just a hint of lemon and is topped with almond pieces.
We took a family recipe that won first prize at the 1935 CNE and modified it to be gluten-free. Available primarily at Christmas, it comes plain or soaked in rum and is aged for about 90 days.
Lemon Chiffon cake
Lemon cake layers filled and iced with butter cream icing. Can be made using a dairy-free icing.
Light sponge layers alternating with mocha butter cream filling and icing. Can be made using a dairy-free icing.
Strawberry mousse cake
Light sponge layers filled with strawberry mousse and covered with whipped cream and strawberries. Available when strawberries are in season.
Light sponge layers filled with mascarpone and cream filled layers, and surrounded with lady finger styled biscuits.

Chocolate cake layers with raspberry filling and butter cream icing. Can be made using a dairy-free icing.

Vanilla cake layers filled and iced with butter cream icing. Can be made using a dairy-free icing.
All our muffins are dairy-free. Weve also adapted our banana muffin recipes to make an egg-free version by replacing the egg with ground flax seed. These are available upon request only.
Our baguettes have a nice crust with a soft, chewy interior. Theyre equally good eaten on their own, with butter, or can also be made into garlic bread and bruschetta.
Our burger buns are just the right size for a standard 6 or 8 oz. burger patty. We recommend lightly toasting the buns just as youre finishing cooking your burger so that your toppings dont make the bun too soggy.
Cheddar onion buns
A variation on our burger buns, these go great with burgers.
Our cheese bread is best suited to savory items or simply slathered with butter.
Chop suey bread
Our chop suey bread is a fruit bread based on a recipe from the mid-1950s. It contains rasins, currants, fruit peel, and glace cherries with just a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg. Its delicious lightly toasted with butter and honey.
Cinnamon raisin bread
Our cinnamon raisin bread has lots of sultana raisins. Its great with a nut butter or also makes a fabulous French toast.
Our dinner rolls are soft and moist and make a wonderful accompaniment to your meal. They can also be used as a bun for sliders.
Flax seed bread
This versatile bread is suited to either savory or sweet items when making sandwiches and contains both ground and whole flax seed.
Based on a foccacia bread recipe, our flat bread is equally good used as a pizza crust or can also be cut up in wedges and served with dipping oils or hummus.
Italian herb bread
This bread is strictly suited to savory items when making sandwiches with it. If cubed and dried, it is especially well-suited to being used in a stuffing recipe for poultry.
Jalapeño cheddar bread or rolls
This bread marries the flavours of cheddar cheese with just the right amount of jalapeño peppers to let you know theyre there. We will also make it as a dinner roll-size bun.
An offshoot from our Rosemary olive bread, this one adds feta cheese (from sheep & goat milk) and sundried tomatoes.
While really better called Multi-seed bread, this one is our most popular bread by far. In addition to ground and whole flax, we added pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and quinoa to give this bread just a bit of crunch while remaining soft and moist.
Rosemary olive bread
Made with rosemary and black olives, this bread is better suited to savory items when making sandwiches.
Teff Sourdough bread
Using a sourdough culture that we developed from teff flour, this bread is our only bread that does not contain eggs. It is a somewhat dense bread with a characteristic almost "rye-like" flavour. Like most of our other breads, this one is also dairy-free with the extra benefit of not containing any added bakers yeast for those people who are unable to tolerate bakers yeast.
White sandwich bread
This was our first bread we made and while its soft and moist, its more popular with our younger clientele who prefer a more plain bread and its great for PB&J sandwiches.
