Went there on a Thursday night for dinner, place was empty yet it was the end of December so there wasn't a lot of tourists. They have a great selection of burgers and pizza, rest of the menu was pretty standard. They do offer gluten free, which does seem to be common in Huntsville. The fries that came with burger were a bit salty but overall ok. My girlfriend ordered a spinach salad and she enjoyed it a lot. They give you your moneys worth with the goats cheese on the salad, definitely not skimpy. The menu did mention it came with egg and she couldn't find it but she still enjoyed it a lot. We will definitely go back next time in Huntsville.

Great patio!

The Cottage has the best patio dining in Huntsville. That is its greatest asset. The food is mediocre at best, but the service is friendly and the view is terrific. Only go there if it's a nice day and you want to sit outside. Otherwise you might pay attention to the food, and that wouldn't be good.

Amazing Patio

Fast with groups, accomadating to all, menu was a great selection for burgers, chicken burgers and also for the Gluten Free! AMAZING! its a definite to go back there.

Love This Place

Love the food here and the service is excellent. Would definitely reccommend going to this restaurant to anyone. Atmosphere is lovely and would reccommend dining on the patio. Overall, delish!

Must go stop

First time visitors to this place. Glad we went. We were highly recommended for this place and we got to sit by the water. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and the food was really good. Don't come this way very often but will be stopping again next time we're in town. Loved all the gluten free options and spiked milkshakes. Yum!

Hometown Proud

In over 5 years living away from Huntsville, I doubt there has been a single time that I've been home without stopping in at The Cottage or Blackburn's Steakhouse. They've got everything - fantastic patio, unreal local and made-in-house food, atmosphere that makes you want to stay and go back again and again and staff that you find yourself chatting with like an old friend. They've also managed to provide such an elegantly done cottage and history of Huntsville decor that I find something new to look at and marvel every time... If you're anywhere North of Barrie or South of North Bay, you HAVE TO stop in and check this place out!!!

Hard to Beat

It's tough to say what's best about The Cottage in Huntsville: the friendly warm staff, the patio bar that sits no further off the water than I'm sure is required by law, the food that's now either homemade or locally purchased according to the new menu. Just fantastic place to stop for a meal or relax by the water or find any excuse to visit

Great spot for the whole family

Rarely is there a spot that my kids like to go as much as my husband and myself, but this restaurant is a hit with everybody we've been a million times and will return a million times more

Patio TO DIE FOR

The Cottage in downtown Huntsville has easily the best patio I have seen in any restaurant I've ever been to in Ontario. The serene setting looking over the old swing bridge and the parks across the river makes you feel like you could sit and sip their also AMAZING spiked milkshakes all day!! I've always made a point to stop by this place on my way to my Lake of Bays family cottage, but with the new menu this year - I have been blown away yet again. Whoever does the in-house sauce for the burgers is a wizard! Great work guys!!!

Best waterfront patio in muskoka. Great service and beet burgers in the area. Over 25 different burger options and plenty of gluten free options. Gotta try it.

Great for the whole team

Our Novice (8 year olds) hockey team had a tournament in Huntsville and we went as a group to The Cottage. They have obviously dealt with groups before as all 40 of our group got delicious food quickly. Jersey numbers were used for seperate bills and all went smoothly come time to pay. Not always the case with large groups in other towns, but these guys are clearly on the ball. We'll be back next year.

So friendly

The staff in this place are so friendly. The food is they type you would expect in this level of restaurant, so the menu is pretty straightforward but the food was all very good. Everyone was happy with their meals. There are some great old photos on the wall and atmosphere is very relaxed.

Great clubhouse

We just came to town for the week & saw 2 pubs or restaurants right on the water, so we picked one of them and had a great lunch. They made a bbq chicken breast club on fresh grilled pita bread... it was delicious! The salad was pretty good, but it's not very hard to make a ceasar. Whoever made our drinks put a lemon wedge instead of lime, but oh well, I got over it. We even had some ducks from the water come to join us, it was pretty cool. It was fairly slow because of the time of day, but we still had to go inside & track down the waitress to let her know we were done... none the less, it was a good atmosphere and one heck of a club, so I would definetly go back.

What a lovely place on the water. The service was friendly, timely and personal. The food was very good and the atmosphere is very comfortable. The patio is second to none and we would return more often if we lived in the area.

Worst meal in 10 years of eating in Huntville

Ice berg salad was horrible/ I ordered a medium steak which was rare and so chewy a wild tiger would have trouble eating it. It came with fries that were already covered in salt and the steak was covered in fried onions to try and cover up the bland flavour. My wife ordered a pasta dish that had zero flavour. We hardly touched our food and would never ever go back.
