Went with a large group from work. We were forced to wait outside for 45 minutes while the staff prepared tables for us. I understand that it's hard to flip tables for a large group, but I believe the entire point of a reservation is that you have the tables ready at the agreed time so the people who reserved them don't have to wait outside. To be fair to the staff, I think this was more of an issue with overbooking the restaurant than it was with the work they were doing.
Once we were seated, we waited about 15 minutes to have orders taken, and another hour for food to arrive. The atmosphere inside was okay. Lighting, decoration etc. was fairly standard. Not bad, vaguely Greek, but nothing that struck me as particularly special or memorable.
The food was good, definitely above average for what you normally find in Kingston. The flavours were well balanced, and it was well prepared. Often I feel that restaurants are too heavy-handed with seasonings, but here I must admit that it was just right.
By the time we left, we had been there for a total of three hours. Normally I don't mind a lengthy dinner once in a while, but when the first two hours or so of it is spent waiting to get into the restaurant and waiting for food to arrive, it's difficult to enjoy it. Three hours is okay if the timing's right, but when you're just eating a main course with no dessert and leaving, it's excessive.
Overall, I'd say that the food was good, but the service times were a real problem. Other people in the restaurant in smaller groups seemed to be having a good time, though. I wouldn't recommend booking this place for more than four people, but the food definitely isn't bad. If you're in a small group, by all means, try it out, but I doubt that I'll be returning.
