I was in Lindsay, for work, not by choice.
I heard they had a great club sandwich.
Anyway I was with two other co-workers we grabbed a quick bite before heading to work(night shift) Portions were huge, price was cheap
The wait staff were great, they accommodated us very well.
Food is alright for a bar I suppose. We stopped in to have a quick lunch while running errands. We ordered the macaroni and cheese for one of our young daughters and were brought Kraft Dinner. Seriously, Kraft Dinner! For $5? Kraft Dinner is NOT macaroni and cheese regardless of the customer's age. Unbelievable.
The food is always fresh and served quickly now that there are new owners! The atmosphere is beautiful and the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great, hearty, delicious food and a nice evening out for dinner :)
Yeah, there are improvements since the new owners took over, but my self and my family feel that the quality of food isn't any better, and we don't like the new look. Where is the giant golden parrot, the suite of armour and the bazillion musical stars poster? Gone, gone I tells ya!
New Owners have taken over with much improvement. Staff is happy and courteous. Food was great. Best pizza I have ever tasted. Best liver and onions. Large variety of food to choose from. A very fun place to meet people and socialize.
I occasionally come to the area and stop in at The Grand and it has undergone some much needed changes recently. With the ownership change, major renovations have been undertaken and completed. A brand new bar has been added and the decor has been seriously revamped. The atmosphere has evolved into a very friendly and fun environment. The food was excellent and service was friendly and prompt. Leaps and bounds above the previous management, can't wait to see what new improvements come.
New Owners have taken over end of March. Much needed renovations in process. Staff seems much happier. Food is always great and worth the wait. Wings were just as we ordered and meaty. Couldn't finish the stir fry --too much. My new favourite restaurant in Lindsay!!
We waited wayyy to long for our food!. The wings had barely any meat on them and were soggy.Salad wasn't bad but for an appetizer took far to long. The grand platter is basically just anything you can throw into a deep fryer and stack on to a plate. The platter its self wasn't bad but i felt like i was going to have a heart attack after eating that much grease. They need more healthy food choices and creativity with their menu
The Grand is a Lindsay institution, but it has been going down-hill. The food was ok, a little greasy, and took too long to come out for a restaurant that was near empty.
The decor hasn't been updated or in some cases cleaned well in many years and it has a faded look that's depressing to view for any long period of time.

I found the bartender to be pleasent and the food was delicious. The wait staff was horrible"Kelsey" -to pre-occupied with friends, rude and completely unknowledgeable. Would recommend the chicken wings to anyone around town.pizza was also affordable and delicious.

Greek Salad looked way better on the new coloured plates than on the old dated ones, The Roast Beef W Yorkshire pudding was an excellent choice to add to the menu's not only for taste, popularity but for value something like that in TO would run you at least $16 bucks great service as always from Joyce. The menu though finally got it's long overdo makeover which I give extreme kudos to that was wicked sweet menu design (I've done a bunch since I finished college) And overall it was awesome next time though gotta have the Pizza nowhere in Toronto is there a place that I can find with a stonebake oven that can make pizza that good ~Cheers~
It was the best steak I have probably ever had. The wings were HUGE and had just the right amount of sauce - not swimming like at some places. Best of all was the pizza. It is the best pizza around, and it doesn't have that franchise chain taste. Unlike other pizza parlours, they really load the toppings on. I am from metro Toronto, and I can say that I will bring my family here every weekend when we come to the cottage.

I eat out a lot. Coming from T.O. it was a nice break from all the traffic. The food was excellent, and the service was quick and friendly. Overall it is a beautiful restaurant. I will definitly recommend it to my fellow cottagers!
The wings were fabulous as usual and the pizza was out of this world. WE asked if they had changed something in the pizza kitchen. They said yes. "the original pizza king that made the first pizza in the 80's is back working for us. Now isn't that "GRAND"
Be prepared at the Grand for very 'un-grand' service. The restaurant often is empty, yet even still the one or two wait staff still seem to neglect the customers. And even if there was only 3 people in the restaurant, be prepared to wait up to 30 minutes for your meal, which may be good, but it might not be worth the wait. The decor is also very dated and dark. I try not to go back to the grand, but often downtown, its the cheapest place for pizza on Sundays.
