I go there at least once a month on my lunch breaks. Keep in mind every time i go here it's DEAD. We are hardly ever greeted at the door and the hostess is never friendly. However, Iris is awesome! I have had her many times and she is probably the only good employee working there. I do find that the food is a little overpriced and they try to get you to fill up on bread. Other than that it's okay!
I have been there a number of times on my lunch break with my coworkers. The first time I was there a server named Ashley spilt ice water on my lap. The second time I was there we had a male and one of our drink classes had a brown film all over it so we all got 50% off of our drinks. The third time.. (third times a charm) I asked for my bill to come to me in 45 minutes so I could be on time for work but Ashley again forgot about my bill and almost all of us were late for work. Not in the least bit impressed and we won't be coming for lunch anymore.
Door greeter was great and friendly and it went downhill from there! I have been to this restaurant twice (thinking I had had a uniquely bad experience the first time) and second time also had a tiny table, which had dirty plates on it, no cutlery, greeted by waiters carrying dirty plates from another table, never seeing that waiter again... The food is just not worth the experience, I can cook better at home.
We met our daughter in law for lunch while in town. Waiter brought coffee, no cream. Placed our orders off the lunch menu, so it shouldn't have been too hard to handle, but we waited about an hour and even then the food didn't all come together. The salad and soup came after the main course, no cheese, meals not hot exept for the burned wrap, no coffee refills and when he finally came around, no cream again. This was definatly the worst lunch experience we've ever had. When we complained to the manager, she gave us some meal vouchers as if we'd ever go back. It took an additional 30 min to sort out our bill, which never really was sorted out to our satisfaction. By the time we got out of there it was over 2 hours. We'll never go back, and certainly not hestitate to share our "experience".
September 12th, I took my wife and our friend to you London location on Wellington Rd. for dinner, as I have done in the past. We arrived at approximately 5:20pm and were seated immediately. We placed our drink orders as well as our meal order shortly there after to our server, Erika. Our salad came in a reasonable amount of time, and then we waited for our meals, and waited, and waited. Erika refilled our beverages and salads and assured us our supper would be right out, but it was not. Nearly an hour went by of her assuring us that it would be right out as well as ignoring any further requests for beverages or bread. Finally after over an hour, she came back and said that for some reason our slip with our meal choices on it got lost or ignored, so they are just starting the meals now. She did not apologize for our extremely long wait time. The restaurant was not busy. There were many empty tables and plenty of staff. We were lead to believe that our order was "the next one out" for over an hour as we saw other tables of people that came in after us order and receive their food. I understand that she was not the one in the kitchen, however, she did not apologize or offer to make up for this mistake in any way. When our meals finally came, delivered even by a manager, we still received no apology and the manager had to shout to the waitress to bring us more bread and more drink refills as she had neglected to do so. We were in the restaurant until well after 7pm. We did not enjoy our meals, as we were disappointed at the unnecessary long wait time. Now, I understand that sometimes things can get busy, or mistakes can be made, however, it was NOT busy the entire time we were there and there was no apology or an offer for any type of discount or refund for the 3 soft drinks we ordered. I am extremely disheartened by this experience, and although I did enjoy the food and atmosphere of your restaurants in the past, I'm not sure that I, or any of my family and friends will be returning. In talking with the Guest Services Representative at there office, still no apology and after being told that someone from the restaurant would follow up, Nothing.
We used to be regulars at this place however the food and service the last half dozen times have finally convinced us to stop wasting our money here. Most of the food on our platters were cold and you could tell they had sat around for a while. The service was also very slow and waitress was quite rude. Have stopped going back and have told others not to waste their money. This is definitely big box "Italian" rather than traditional. You can find much better authentic pasta dishes, or make it yourself!
The food was consistant with every other East sides I had been too but the service was a complete disaster. Our waitress was both rude and clueless. We left no tip and will not be back to this location.
Food was ok, but waiter absolutly refused to have the staff sing for my daughter's 10th birthday. He must have been in a mood or something. i won't go back and have told many people
Great salad. Great food. Great servers. It's budda boom budda bing great!
They have the best garden salad in the city! Plus it's unlimited with the purchase of a meal.
East Side's is just your standard cookie cutter restaurant that plague's our society. But their soup and salad deal makes a good workday lunch break.
