Third time there. Really like Thai food but like this better. Better food, better price and better service. Tried the kimchi soup with mackeral this time. Prefer noodles over rice but still like this better than my beloved Pad Thai with Tom Yum soup. Excellent presentation. An excellent feed. And excellent side dishes thrown in. Better tea as well.
Went here with a friend and we both enjoyed our meals and had tons of leftovers, even though we were stuffed after. I will definitely be back, and will try something new on the interesting menu. The service was fine, can't complain, I was fed and watered!
The Korean beef ribs(kalbi) were delicious, and the soups were hearty and warm. I especially liked the rice cake soup with dumplings(duk gook with mandoo). My husband loved the pork bone soup(gamjeh tang), which was very flavourful and spicy. Luckily they mentioned that we could order mild, med or hot. My brother in-law loved his kimchi soup(kimchi ji-geh), and found it to be full of kimchi and think cut pork. The side dishes that accompanied the meal(kimchi, radish kimchi, marinated bean sprouts and spinach) were a nice addition. Apparently, this is how Korean's normally eat their dinners with sides of kimchi etc. shared amongst the table. Along with the hot barley tea, dinner was fantastic. I never hesitate to bring our visiting friends and more adventurous foodies here. cheers, Jane & John
The most disspointing food experience ever. I've been to a Korean barbecue before and I really liked it, but this was the first time I've had regular Korean food. Both my husband and I left so disappointed. He had the seafood and tofu stew which was served with rice. I had the beef and vegetable dish served with an egg on top. His dish was spicy yet bland, watery and had very very little seafood. My dish was just tasteless and had very little beef. I love all ethnic foods...from Ethiopian, Chinese, Japanese, sushi, Afghan, Polish, Latin to Indian....but either I'm not a fan of Korean or this restaurant just served terrible food. I really just don't know. A lot of people are saying how inexpensive it is and I really didn't think it was so inexpensive. There were several dishes on the menu that seemed pretty basic like chicken and veggie - $17.00....so I would say the prices were average. The waitress was pleasant, I felt the place was clean and the food came out quickly. As for the taste of the food: Terrible
Excellent food, reasonably priced. The octopus dish is delicious. The service is always a little slow - there's usually only one server, even when it's busy. The place also needs to be renovated.
This is one of my favorite restaurnt in London. Reasonable pirce and great diversity of traditional Korean and some Japanese food. Also, all employees are very kind and make you feel like being at home. Newly renovation has been made and displayed wall photograps taken in Nova Scotia.
Fantastic food. Owner is and excellent hosts. We are going there at least few times a month
First time visiting. Good food and good service but I think I would get the spicy pork next time instead of the beef because it was a little sweet. It was very reasonable price at $20 for the dinner for two and good portions.
The food is delicious and normally comes in good portions. My only complaint is its relative lack of consistency. Sometimes you get a fantastic amount of meat while other times you might get a more menial portion.
The first time I went there it was great, then the second time I went there it was so-so. The food is inexpensive and tasty, as I should know because I am Korean. A little different then Mom makes, but what can I say. The only downside for my second visit was that one of the dishes we ordered. The plate contained very little meat/seafood and lots of veggies. My dissappointment was even more pronounced when I looked over to a table with people that obviously knew the owners since a lady from the kitchen came out with thier same dish...and what do you know, it was the reverse of ours. It had lots of meat/seafood a little bit of veggies. So I guess I will not be ordering that dish anymore. Either that or I will compare it to the dish that other patrons are ordering. I realize this may be a family owned restaurant, but you have to focus on consistency and quality.
Food is always hot with just the right amount of spice. Sometimes I think they bring the food out to fast but I guess this is how they eat. We enjoy it every time we visit.
Manna grill is amazing, never close down and keep making that spicy pork with that yummy gooey rice. Its really great. The food is so good, especially the spicy pork and rice. It is also great with a nice cold, glass of chocolate milk!!!
Sometimes the service can be a little frustrating but it is a family owned and run restaurant, so one can easily overlook that for some really good authentic korean food.
Great food, as always, service is a little lack lustre, simply no communciation, but some friendly smiles. All in all an enjoyable experience, enough so that I frequent there often! :)
