Come Hungry.

This is a dependable and satisfying traditional moderately priced restaurant in the heart of old Cooksville. I don't mind that the servers don't introduce themselves and that some of the customers won't have to produce ID at the Beer Store. What do those things have to do with a satisfying meal? The menu hasn't change much over the years and you certainly won't find all the latest food fads here. I've always received a cheerful greeting, prompt and caring service, generous portions of freshly prepared, steaming hot food and decent coffee. That's all I expect and I certainly don't find very often.

A great old fashioned eatery

This is one of those great old eateries that is fast dissappearing. I always look for these diners, the kind that once were truck stops where you could always get a kind of a home cooked meal for a decent price. There are too few left and the place is usually filled with middle aged and older people. I love the food, the culture of the place and the crusty old staff. Well done after 46 years of service.

Nothing To Rave About

I needed to grab something quick and noticed this restaurant. I had always seen it on my travels so I thought I would try it. It wasn't too busy as it was lunch time and during the week. I walked in and sat myself as per the sign 'Seat Yourself' at the front door. I was given the menu quickly, and ordered my food. I received my food within five minutes. The food was okay, nothing great, the server wasn't too friendly, she didn't even tell me her name. I wouldn't ever go back, only because the food and service isn't anything to rave about.

Quick Service, Great Prices

Me and my boyfriend go to Orchard every couple of weeks. We've made a game of timing how quick the food comes out, we've had our order come out in less than 6 minutes before. The food is great, and for under $10 you get crisp bacon, eggs cooked perfectly, hashbrowns and pancakes. I've been to the restaurant almost 10 times now, never a problem with the service.

Waitress Fighting with Bus Boy for tips

Today my Husband and I decided to go for Breakfast .. it was busy due to fathers day so we were patience and waited in line. We had gone there before and even though the service is not that great but the food is decent , ok prices and down the street from our home. But today was the last time I wil ever go in this restaurant. We were sitted after a long wait and once we were sitted we waited for 20 minutes.. no waitress even looked our way... in our area there were two waitresses. Once of them was busy and too scare to talk to the Blonde-rude waitress, so she will look at us and didn't know if the blonde waitress was helping us or not and the blonde waitress was too busy being rude and fighting with the busboys about her tips. The table next to us only left her $2.00 and she was fighting and asking the busboy if he had taken her tip or the other busboy, and I saw the whole thing and he didn't take any money, the table next to us was not happy with her service. But ofcouse she was way too busy being rude to her co workers to notice us ... so both waitresses ignored us. After 20 minutes only the busboy notice us and gave us the menu by them I counted 4 table in our area that came after we did, some of them had their food or atlest coffee... we got up and left and they didnt even notice we left. We will not be returning... there is better places to go and great service. Sure it was convenient due to location but I rather drive further as long as I get good service.

We stumbled across this all-day "family" restaurant and decided to have breakfast and some friendly conversation. The table beside us, who arrived after us, got their food before the waitress even took our order. After getting our food (which was ok) we enjoyed some conversation. The waitress dropped our bill on the table before our plates were taken and never bothered to ask us if we wanted anything more. Shortly after, the owner came by, leaned over and put his hands on my side of the table and told us that we had been there too long, that the waitress was losing money, that he was losing money, and that we should go. We got up and paid, told him that what he did was disrespectful. He did not apologize but scoffed at that remark and stated "I was respectful" and that it was his restaurant. After saying we would not return, he said, "Fine by me." If he treats paying customers who are just minding their own business this way, I wonder how great of a boss he is. I've never been told to leave a restaurant before. The two of us will not be back and we do not recommend this place. They seem to care about money, not customer service.

To all the people complaining about grumpiness...maybe you reap what you sow? We have been going here for 20+ years. Waitresses generally are long-timers and know the regular customers. We have always gotten a smile and or a wave from most of the staff as well as the owners. They do a great brekkie, they have something for everyone on the menu.

I have been here a few times. They seem to have a number of regulars. Food is good and the place clean. It is the typical family restaurant to visit for a quick meal. Usually I get the roast beef dinner.

coffee and friends

I always go to this lovely family friendly restaurant whenever I want to meet my best friend for lunch or breakfast. It's a very basic "diner" style restaurant. The service depends on which waitress you have, I've had great service and below average service. The coffee is always hot, the soups are always fresh, and the sanwichwes and portion sizes are always larger than life. Great breakfast selections, and it's the perfect place to go and chat with some family or friends for a very casual dining esperience.

I have eaten at and ordered from Orchard on an almost weekly basis for over twenty yeard,and I have no complaints whatsoever.Great place with a gteat staff.I recommend anything on the menu.

Went in, we ordered a complicated menu. Customized bunch of things. my fiancée had hers customized as well and her mother (my mother-in-law) got her food the way it was, and we added deserts as well. the total time for us to explain our order was 5 mins. and the total time it took for them to make and give to us was less than 2 mins. i was surprised cause we just settling in to "wait" but wow, the restruant was busy and we were surprised by the speed of the service and the quaility of the food. We go there alot now, and its nice atomosphere for family and or "Grown-ups" no kids or foolishness.

Interior is comfortable, booths and tables to choose from; the skylight helped brighten up the morning. Service was timely but not cordial-- no friendly welcome or smile from the waitress, who tossed the silverware she dropped onto her buggy with a loud crash. Not much of a morning person maybe? Food is totally average, rather boring, thoughtless and sloppy food presentation. On the upside, portion size and price is fair. Orchard Family Restaurant is completely unmemorable but a good enough choice if one just wants to have a quick fill up rather than a dining experience. Hopefully the conversation between you and your company will outshine the platter.

we go at least 2-3 times a month, THE best breakfast anywhere! It's worth the drive from Brampton. If we're not there for brekkie then the souvalki for lunch or dinner is awesome! Been going there for 10 years now and most of the same staff is still there which speaks volumes. They are friendly even when the place is packed on the weekend mornings. I hate to tell people about this place, I want to keep this jewel all to myself!

We've been there over 20 times this year. The breakfast you can't beat. The food is fantastic!! The waitresses are friendly and the service is fast. The prices are a little high but well worth it. We'll be back.
