I tried this place when it first opened after hearing mixed reviews. It did not live up to its promise of fancy cuisine and good food. It was subpar. I decided to try it again last month when a friend asked me to lunch. I ordered the Chicken ceasar salad. It was described as having fresh parm and croutons. I recieved a wilted salad with almost no dressing, dry overcooked chicken and no croutons or parm cheese. It was absolutley disgusting. How hard is it to make a ceasar salad? They have a rep for fancy food and I was not happy. I sent an email to their website and never heard back. I have never complained before but it was bothering me.
I have been there three times in one year with my colleagues and our manager on business lunches. We really liked the location and the outside patio but their service was awful. The first time it was average. The waitress took a long time to serve us but once we got the food we enjoyed it as well as the atmosphere. The second time, we were rushed by having the waitress inquiring so many times about when we were ready for the bill. Third time was the WORST. Our waitress asked us, and I mean directly asked us to LEAVE because their outside patio was filling up and they needed our table since we were no longer eating and we had a table with an umbrella while the two ladies next to us were bothered by the sun since their table had none. Although we finished eating but we were not ready to leave. We were in a middle of a business conversation and when we realized it was going to take long we were ready to order dessert, until we received that attitude from our waitress, who turned out to be the manager and the owners' daughter, named Nikki. What a service. People we told that to were SHOCKED. They thought we were joking
This was by far the very best in Newmarket Food was exceptional and service too match. I love when I find a spontaneously great restaurant. Brought here by my coworkers that i was visiting in Canada. Food was really good. Grilled Calamari was crazy, and my Paella was one of the best i have had, I wan tto go back!
So good! My husband and I go to Cachet a few times a year, and it just keeps getting better. They now have a new chef and a great selection of seafood! My husband had the striploin steak and LOVED it! So much better than steakhouses. I had the trout and it was perfect. We started with crab cakes and pear salad and it all was great. Service was friendly, and our server made sure that we were well taken care of. We will definitely be back more often.
I went here just the other night for my anniversary. We asked for a nice table and were brought to a cozy table in the back dining room by the fireplace. We had a great service from start to finish, attentive without being overbearing, and loved everything! The food was presented beautifully and the wine was fairly priced. We had a great evening, definitely give this place a try it's quickly become our favourite place to eat!
I've been to Cachet a few times since moving to York Region 2 years ago. I've had a good experience overall. The appetizers we had with drinks during our most recent visit were quite good. When I've attended in the past, the entrees were just okay. The service was great the last time I was there, and just okay the other times. It seems to me that they've improved each time I've visited. **And to the previous reviewer, please don't let that experience cloud your view of Newmarket - I've lived there for 2 years now and have been met with smiles and politeness from everyone, even at the grocery store.
My wife and I have been here 3 or 4 times, mostly in the summer. The patio atmosphere is great, but it's a shame about the service and food. It was a beautiful day, so we had to wait at a table in the restaurant for a table to open on the patio. The table we were seated at was filthy.. food scraps and grease on the surface of the table, and spilled on to the chair. When I brought it to the attention of a waitress, she seemed bothered by my request to wipe the table down. It then took 10-15 minutes to get our first drink. There didn't seem to be anyone serving inside... because it was so busy on the patio? The waitresses were running ragged. The place was clearly understaffed. When we finally got on to the patio the table out there was also filthy. It's a real shame about this restaurant because it is in a fantastic location. The food overall was below average pub food.
Nice menu... modern & good quality. Try the Creme brulee!
