I really enjoyed my meal and my friends did too.
We went for dinner on Dec 2, 2011 at 7 and the place was full. Some of us order from the menu but most of us ordered from the specials. Good wine selection too.
Will go back again soon.
Visited on Sat, Feb 27 at approximately 5:30 pm, restaurant was empty.
2 of us had fetticine alfredo, I couldn't believe the size of the portion, so small and for $16.50? Had I known it was so small, I would have order something else, thankfully the bread filled us up. The third entre was a veal parmesan and was very much liked.
Going to the washroom downstairs, you could smell the sewers or something equally aromatic, not pleasant.
Thought it was overpriced for the portions, this was strongly recommended to me from someone that has a big party there each year. Printed the menu off the Internet and the prices were at least $5.00 more than the print-out. Not happy about that.
Probably will not return.
Let me say first, the food here is and has always been superb. I discovered this little restaurant in 1970, I'm probably his oldest customer, and over the years I have watched it grow from a tiny pizzeria to a 3 floor restaurant. Unfortunatly his prices have expanded as well. Today he seems to cater to the "American Express " crowd instead of the "just want to go out to dinner" crowd. I have to agree with one of the reviews about the portions, getting smaller, and the price is getting higher. The last time we were there, even though the owner greeted us by name and seated us at a table in the middle of the restaurant, much to the dismay of the Maitre d' , (we did not have a reservation) I couldn't help but feel we were a little underdressed. It wasn't until Pasquale sat down at our table and ordered two after dinner drinks for us that the Maitr d' might have realized his hasty mistake. Not really sure if I will return.

My husband and I went as a pre Valentines dinner, to beat the Valentine Day crowd.
The food was excellent which I wasn't too surprised as I was there in December for a xmas party upstairs. We found the waiters to be quite friendly but not too "in your face" which was good.
The Tiramisu was the best I have ever tasted, anywhere. Our server told us the owner makes it himself. Anyway we enjoyed our evening and will be going back for sure.
This restaurant looks great inside and out! I walked in with my boyfriend we were not wearing our finest and got the rudest stare from the host, he did not say anything to us and I actually had to ask for a table for 2. I have never had to do that anywhere! I was appalled but we were starved and didn't want to walk up and down avenue road to find a different place. the host was an older man and was to put it plainly a huge snob. He didn't say one word to us as he led us to the table and put the napkins on our laps even after we had said thank you ( he didn't deserve it though). Everone in the restaurant you could tell had something shoved up you know where. The food was great especially the bruschta but the servings are pretty darn small! I don't know if I would go back my boyfriend definatly won't, they truly need to work in their customer service instead of spending time making their customers feel extremly uncomfortable
