Small Business Owner

I am a small business owner and Leslie Smith was very diligent in respect to helping me safe guard myself from any backlash for the termination of an employee. I was referred by a friend who also was very happy with the outcome of her law suit except in her case she was suing for wrongful termination and large loss of income. Leslie Smith is a great lawyer and is extremely intelligent. I greatly recommend Leslie Smith she gets results.

No free consultation

I found Leslie Smith to be a nice personable lady but she lacked confidence and impressed me as timid about the prospect of going to court if the matter did not settle. Was a bit upset with the charge of the consultation. I ended up going to another employment lawyer who was more aggressive and was very pleased with the final result.

Brianr, like all consultation clients, are advised prior to attending my office of the fees and charges. Brianr would have agreed to pay that amount before his appointment was made. As for whether I am timid, no, I am not timid to go to court. Have been doing it for years. I just don't happen to believe that court is the best solution for most employment matters. Neither do most judges. Settlement and mediation are better, faster, cheaper. I am not the type of lawyer that takes people's money and tells them to take their matters to court no matter what, if the more reasonable approach is settlement. If Brainr didn't like the consultation fee, he surely wouldn't enjoy spending the thousands of dollars taking a matter to court, not to mention the 1-3 years it takes to get to trial. Most employment law matters can and should be settled. That is not being timid. That is being wise and respectful of people's sensibilities and finances.
