Unprofessional Groomers Indeed

I was wondering if I was the only one disappointed with this salon, and I was not surprised to see that indeed I was not. These people behave like they own the place and they don’t care or need your business. To say they have poor customer service skills is a gross understatement. They are simply hostile. I made an appointment with Darcy. At the time of the appointment I was met by another groomer who bluntly said that my dog will have to be shaved because he was matted. We had brushed him the night before and regularly in the past. Clearly this is a practice they frequently employ. When Darcy saw him, she said she was going to do him without shaving the legs. When I was given the paper to sign, I wanted to put it in writing, being concerned that he may end up shaved. For the kind of breed I have, shaving their legs is a big no-no. Right then and there she decided she is not going take him anymore and I was to remove him. These people have the attitude that IF they decide to take your pet, they are doing you a great favor. I had made an appointment, the dog was fine to be groomed, and all of a sudden they simply decided they will not take him. I could not believe the lack of professionalism. Eventually I asked for a manager and she ‘agreed’ that they will take the dog. The grooming itself was not a problem. But the attitude was unbelievable. Never before was I met with such hostility and child-like temper tantrums. Very unprofessional. Absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

Unprofessional Groomer

On Jan 4, 2013 I have scheduled a grooming appointment for my dog at 0800. I was received by a groomer named, Irina, and took details regarding the grooming style. I have mentioned it was second visit to that specific Pet Smart and my last visit the lady who groomed my dog did very well and I would like the same cut, but slightly shorter and shaved around his belly. While we were talking my dog had urinated several times, I have walked him prior to the visit knowing he will be indoors for a while, but he also had his tail between his hind legs. Knowing my dog he was scared and was very hesitant. Irina, the groomer proceeded to state "YOU DIDN'T WALK HIM OUT DID YOU?!" and spoke to my dog in a childish manner stating "WHERE ARE YOU HIDING YOUR URINE?!" I was then very floored and totally disgusted but I kept my composure and asked if she was going to be my dogs groomer. At this point my dog was shaking like a leaf and as she approaches him, he hides between my legs. Irina replies to me that she will be grooming my dog and followed with this remark without any hesitation "IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG? YOU CAN RESCHEDULE YOU KNOW?!" I proceeded with, "He is not himself so no I will not get him groomed today." She asked if I wanted to reschedule and I followed with "No." and left the store. I then called the store shortly after to speak with a Grooming Manager named, Nikki, who was nice and apologetic. Anyhow, I have never had issues with Pet Smart. I have groomed my dog at the Heartland Mississauga and Scarborough Pet Smart before and had no issues there. It is just this groomer who was inappropriate and unprofessional. I deal with a lot of personalities in my career and I, as being the dog owner, knows my dog well. My dog reacted appropriately to her negative energy and ultimately led to his anxiety and urinating on the spot. I am appalled by the behavior of a supposedly "pet groomer" who looked like she has had experience.

Great service from the people at this location. Our dog is always happy when we pick him up and they do a good job also.
