I love Marcel and Heather's cooking, it is the best. Unfortunately when someone else cooks it's not as good. When Marcel cooks I dream of the food all night. The seafood is delicious. I have never had tough seafood. The roast beef melts in your mouth.

Service was good, atmosphere was good, but the food was terrible. We both ordered a regular 3 course meal offer on the menu. Lobster bisque was not very good and the little bit of lobster in it was tuff and chewy. They ran out of it so wife choose scallop and brocili soup. No scallops in it (just brocoli soup)and waitress later brought some chopped scallop and just dropped in soup bowl at table! Seafood pasta terrible, and any seafood was sooo tuff. I got really sick about 7 hours later and was up all night with food poisoning. I can't believe this place offers gourmet cooking lessons. In spite of all this, no compensation was offered, nor did I complain or ask for any. If this was my establishment I would have been embarrassed. I also took the time to politely fill out the "rate us" card that they gave me of which I would have thought a reply would have been extended.....but no. Very disappointed. I would like it noted that the Management of the Grape and Olive, invited us back at there cost for an interactive dinner with the chief...and it was great. Based on that level of service I will be changing my review to a higher score. There really is a need for better consistancy though.

Memorable Experience!!!

I have been going to our cottage in Orillia for years and have never been to this restaurant until a couple of weeks ago. My family and I went for the morning buffet brunch. The food was beyond amazing. A chef made fresh omelets while you wait and waffles with a spiced pear sauce. The variety and quality of food was amazing especially for $16.99 per person. We enjoyed our meal so much that we have been talking about it for weeks. Fantastic experience and looking forward to our next visit!!!
