Weve been ordering from the Hong Kong House for 14 years and have recommended them to everyone I know in the area. The food quality has been in decline, less meet and vegetables, for the last 7 years or so. Our daughter is at a sleepover for the night and we thought Chinese might be a nice treat. I just bought our lat meal from the Hong Kong House. Our vegetable fried rice had maybe a dozen pieces of bean sprouts and half a small mushroom. The vegetable noodles had NO vegetables, not one.
The lady server cares nothing to get you a drink right away. Yells across the room to ask my order. Never checked on me once. Not a single person in the restaurant she couldn’t have been that busy. I’m all for supporting local business but this one needs to be torn down
( the bathrooms had mould, dusty mirrors and also writing on the wall from 2017)
To top this all off I was accused of trying to leave without paying for her only to find out the money was on the table had she looked.
I have been coming here for over 25 years. Best Chinese food in the Durham region for the price. Great price and huge portions always have leftovers to eat the next day. You have to try this place.
My family loves this restaurant. We actually make the drive from Whitby to Oshawa for either take-out or eat in.
If you want a large quantity of delicious food for a great price, then Hong Kong House on Simcoe is the place for you.

The title says it all. We've scoured durham region for over 5 years and the hong king house still hase the best chinese food. It's reasonably priced and you'll save when you pick it up so it's an even better deal.

The Hong Kong house isn't the fanciest restaurant in town but the place is clean, the service is fast, the food is always really good, the portions ample and the prices are fair.
To me that's a five star restaurant!
This is the best chinese (western chinese)food you can get around, like the person before me, my family been eating at HKH for over 15 years, great price, peter is a bid rough but it is his culture, but the food is good... snd the price u can beat...5 people eat for under 50.00 easy...
Our family has been going to HKH for over 12yrs. It's the best chinese food ever! We're asian and we love the food! We don't have a problem with the service and Peter is a great guy (just over-worked). We take our out-of-town guests to HKH and they agree that it's delicious and affordable. Our favourite is the lemon chicken! The portions are good for big families. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to people who are sick of fast food...it definitely is fast service too!
I been coming to this place for over 10 yrs. Have not been anywhere else that has this great of food. Got my girlfriend to even switch to Hong Kong House. Excellent food, keep up the great work.
Good food, amazing sized portions and a price that can't be beat. While the service is a tad slow they never messed up the order and the food was very satisfying. Take out is very good as well and fast.

Hong Kong House is my favourite chinese restaurant in the world. The food is always good, and the take out portions are fantastic. Everyone loves chinese left overs.
This is actually my favourite restaurant in Oshawa, and Peter is a very, very nice man. If you're looking for amazing chinese food for astounding prices, this is definitely the place to be. The 5 dollar dinners are the best, I pick up one of those and it will last me for left overs the next day. Amazing!

If you love chinese food or new to it, HKH is the best place in Oshawa to go for cheap eats. Check out the lunch combos that they honour even at dinner time. Full plate of food for $5.00 - you can't get a deal like that any where else!

The service staff isnt overly friendly, but the service is fast and the food is excellent, making up for the service staff. The best chinese food I have ever eaten....and I love chinese food.

Great place for college and uni students who need a hot meal for a low price! Im always skeptical about ordering beverages because the service is never friendly. The waiter seems to think serving people younger than him is unacceptable... Other than that the only reason I keep going there is for the price of the combination plates havent tried anything else
