We called ahead to make sure they could accommodate our party of 7, as we had 3 kids with us (one being a toddler), and knew they would only sit quietly for so long. They said it wasn't a problem, so off we went. We were seated immediately, as promised, but it then took over 20 minutes for a waitress to even come and take our drink orders. We placed our food order at the same time. I asked if the goat cheese stuffed chicken could be made without bacon. I was assured that yes, it could, so I ordered it. About an hour later, we finally got our food. My mashed potatoes were not very warm, and the chicken really didn't look very appetizing. The skin was not crispy at all, and what do you know, there was bacon in it. Our waitress didn't bother coming back over until the end of our meal, so I sat there watching everybody else eat. When she did finally come over, I told her the issue, and she did offered to take it back and get me something else. At that point the kids were not going to sit for another hour waiting for another meal, so I told her she could take it back but I didn't want anything else. Thankfully, she did at least take my meal off the bill, but I went home hungry, and will never return again!! Nobody's food was very good, and the service was awful!
Have been going to Blue Moon for over 25 years. Last visit, 6 months ago, the restaurant was disappointing. Decided to try again last night and will not go back. Both my son and I ordered a Moonburger and fries for 9.99 each. Charge $1.29 for a slice of processed cheese on top (plus another $1.29 for his 2 slices of almost raw bacon.) Moonburger is supposed to come with fried onions and mushrooms. Onions were not on either burger, and mushrooms were ice cold, straight out of the fridge-not the best when you're expecting warm food. Size of burger less than half what it used to be. My younger son ordered a grilled cheese and fries off the kids menu for $5.99. Kind of expensive-no dessert included. Does include pop, but when he ordered root beer, waitress didn't mention that rootbeer didn't qualify on kid menu and we were charged another $2.10 for the bottle of Rootbeer (made that meal very expensive.) As well, grilled cheese used to be served on Texas Toast. Now it is made with plain old white sliced bread. My husband has been going to the Blue Moon for over 35 years (as a kid with his parents.) He ordered his favourite limburger and onion sandwich for $6.99 (fries not included.) It used to be on Texas Toast with thick slices of limburger and onion. Now this sandwich is served on plain white sliced bread (which was rock hard and almost burned) and the limburger was sliced so thin that the bread was thicker than the cheese. He also ordered a side salad for an extra $3.50. The salad was just iceberg lettuce and shredded carrots in a teeny tiny dish. The service was terrible. Food came quickly (or more quickly than usual) but we asked for ketchup, but had to eventually get our own since waitress went on to take orders at 4 more tables rather than drop ketchup off while our food was still warm. Frankly, the quality of the food and the service was pitiful. The new owners bought 3 years ago. They tried to keep the menu the same as it was, but have failed terribly since the quality of the meals is so poor. We won't be going back.
I always have a hard time deciding which app to get and sometimes just get a 2nd one for my meal. (Mmm deep fried pickles) Wait staff is friendly and checks if you want anything else. If they have cheesecake on for dessert get it, they are awesome and sell out often. Can't wait for patio season
I dine at The Blue Moon every week for wing night on Wednesdays, and I love it. The atmosphere is excellent. I invite my friend and we usually have 10-20 people in our group. They have lots of TV’s, 3 rooms to choose from. Family dining if I bring the kids, the pub room, and a games room. They also have an interactive game called; Buzz time running all the time. I order a caeser salad and a pound of wings every Wednesday night and I haven’t been disappointed yet. I have been going there weekly for 2 years now, and have grown to know the employee's by name. I was surprised to see the previous review about someone’s ethnicity. I am happy to dine in a restaurant that doesn’t discriminate against someone’s ethnics, and I wouldn't dine anywhere that does that. I thought that we as a Country CANADA are past that. I love my half price wings, I have tried the rest and this place serve's the best!
