NEVER going there again

Went for lunch with my colleagues (5 of us) on Tuesday at 12:10. Placed an order and within 5 mins the waitress brought the water. We waited and waited until 1pm. There was no food and not a single person came to check up on us even once in these 50mins. Then by 1:10 I went to the bar and inquired where our food was. Our waitress was surprised and said she sent it out long ago. We said we didn't receive anything. Then she goes into the kitchen. TERRIBLE SERVICE AND MEDIORCE FOOD.

No complaints

A group of 21 of us attended this venue on a Thursday morning for breakfast. Pro: They arranged the seating at the back of the restaurant to accommodate us at one long table. The music wasn't too loud and we had the whole area to ourselves. Pro: The waiter was friendly and VERY efficient!!! He took ALL of our orders without writing anything down and got all of our orders right. We were VERY impressed with his memory skills, accuracy and attention to detail. Pro: Everyone enjoyed their breakfast, and was especially pleased with the home fries - we like them crispy and seasoned. Tolerable: The food took approximately 15 mins to arrive, but we were chatting among ourselves to pass the time. It was a little more pricey than we would have liked, but the portion size exceeded our expectations. There didn't seem to be any cons except that there was a column behind the table minimizing some of the space, but everyone was pleased and didn't seem to have any complaints. People in our group said they would come back, and so would I.

Enjoy it!

I went to Fran's in the dead of night and ordered the breakfast. Eggs and toast were fine, Bacon strips were thin and short, tons of piping hot homefries to soften up with ketchup and choke down - lovely. Decor in the restaurant needs an overhaul - they tried to make it look like a 1950's style diner - but it looks more like "The Max" from Saved by the Bell. The two male servers working were beyond awesome. One guy was quiet, but the other guy said "Enjoy it" every time he brought me something, he even said it for coffee refills. It really added to the meal, and I did find myself enjoying it more and more. I would certainly visit here again.

Good for a breakfast

For the amount of food we got and the type of service we received, I would say it is not a bad choice at all for a breakfast. The pancake and the eggs were really good. In brief, nothing to complain about.

Trying to come up with a description for this...

Trying to come up with a description for this place other than "adequate"...but can't. It's okay. Was recommended to us a while back, so we went on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed. Food was ok, service was alright (taken into account that the servers were rushed off their feet). It's a diner. A greasy-spoon. No better, no worse.

Third time here and it was the best ever. All day breakfast cooked to perfection. Wife's burger was from heaven. Service was spectacular. Refreshing! Kid friendly atmosphere. Even the trip to the bathroom is an experience as you leave the world of the diner into the darkness of a martini bar. Very cool.

Awesome Late-Nite eats!

All the food was great, fries could use improvement but that goes for lots of places. We had been partying all night and were really hungry, so that could have had an influence, but our waiter was really awesome too.

Nice to see Niagara wines on the menu no matter where you are. Nice diner style restaurant, extensive menu, friendly fast service. Meatloaf was salty but tasty and I'm always leary of those shiny brown gravies, but it was good. Mashed were real red skinned potatoes, veg was cold but a nice mixture of fresh cauliflower, broccoli, zuchini and carrots. The rice pudding was the best, even though I cut my lip on my spoon. If I'm in the area for a show again, I would go back.

Okay, I'll admit that I had this lunch after being at St. Mikes emerge getting oxygenated and steamed all morning, but... This ain't the old Fran's. It is far more expensive and impersonal. I also hate the fact that the washroom is in the adjoining hotel and there is only one access card no matter how many customers need to use the facilities. The food was reasonable and nicely presented. There is not as much staff as necessary to cover the tables, but the staff tries.

Basic no frills fare, I enjoyed my ribs and my dining partner who had the Big Breakfast could not finish her meal--it was a lot of food. Great spot to grab a meal and go when in the downtown core.
