Taste is the best feature of this Thai restaurant. The freshness is also a key positive feature. Finally, the takeout is the best option. Overall, a 10 out of 10. My family's ideal place in Toronto!
I would just like to say the joy thai is the best thai food that I have had in Toronto and I have been to most of the well known in the city. The food is always good and the place is busy that should tell you enough that the food is great. I consider it a hidden jem for thai food. If you have not been there I would check it out you will not be disappointed.
We have tried several Thai Restaurants throughout Toronto; this is by far the best. Since they opened we have frequently ordered for pick up and eaten in -- just the two of us or with friends. The food is consistently good, authentically Thai. The service is excellent. One minor change would be to play some music. Not a big enough problem to stop us from returning -- over and over again.
I think that Joy has some of the best thai food in Toronto. Their creamy red curry chicken is heavenly. I have dined in and gotten take out and the food is ALWAYS amazing. I can't count the number of times we have gone their with friends and family for a casual dinner. Its not fancy, but the food is amazing. Their service can be slow, but worth it! Most of the people who live in the neighborhood, like I do, have Joy on their Top 10 list!
Easily the best Pad Thai in the city! Have dined here at least a half dozen times and have never experienced the poor service that the previous person mentioned. I think that there review is unfair to the extreme...can't believe that the food merited a "3"!
I really don't understand why there are so many good reviews for this place? Must be the owners trying to promote some business. I went to Joy Thai today and, after my experience, could not wait to come see how others felt. The only server in the restaurant was crude and slow. He seemed like he would rather drink bleach than be do anything. There were only two occupied tables. While I ordered my take-out, he preceded to serve a table their meals, but left one woman without food. I was instructed to come back in 15 minutes to pick up my order but when I came back I waited an additional 15 minutes to get my food to go. I noticed the same woman was sitting there without any food. She asked him twice politely where her food was before he replied "you're just going to have to wait." She, myself and most people in the restaurant were appalled. I can understand if the food isn't that great but at least have some sort of customer service. I spent $22 on wasted time and food, I felt like I should have been paid to even eat the stuff. Would never ever go back. Conclusion: Don't Do It!
I have been going to this restuarant sicne it opened a few years ago. Its definitely not the best thai food out there but I can always be sure that the food will be good. Its always the same and I love that about this place. I think everybody should try it.
This food is completely amazing! After spending some time in Thailand, I find it difficult to find Thai cuisine in Toronto that doesn't have the standard flat taste. Joy Thai's flavours jump out at you with their freshness. Eating here compared to other Thai restaurants is like eating in technocolour compared to black and white!
The best is the thai seafood in this restaurant. You have to try it. I was i love with all three curries - black, red and yellow. Delicious!!!!!!
Soup - excellent one of the best - 9 Garlic shrimp - delicious " - 9.5 Glass noodles - o.k. - 6.5 Pad Thai - not the best - 5 I am a very fussy diner and recommend the first two items - Pad Thai - no way , I make far better myself . This was a take-out order at 9:30 Sat. night and service was good .
I've been going to this restaurant since they opened and it really turned me on to Thai cuisine. I have tried others but this is the best in my opinion that I have tried in the city. If you're ordering the above dish and don't like too much salt then inform them as they will season it accordingly.
