Came here for a replacement decorative bulb. Service was excellent and I was out of there within 2 Minutes. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try.
DAY ONE - I go in not really knowing what I want - I wander looking for the best solution for our studio issues - but I felt this presence over me - and I lok back and there is the employee sanding beside me - didn't say a word - just followed me around - to the point that I felt sooooo awkward - I left
I drove to Canadian tire - found almost all the things I needed.
NEXT DAY
i needed more little cheap hooks - so I bite the bullet - and go back to the store that made me feel so little the day before - knowing I was probably going to be treated like a delinquent once again.
I walk in and right away a guy asks if I need anyhting I say hooks - he tells me where they are - so I start looking.
seconds later he comes back to check - I say "I'm just gonna see if there is a cheaper solution " - seconds later - he comes back again - just stares at me a little - Mind you I am a little paranoid now - by the 4th time someone checks in on me I could not help it - I said "is something wrong, do you want me to leave? - I feel weird being followed around the store" - to which the guy says, no - "just trying to help".
Now i relax a little - i feel like maybe - they wont treat me like a thug now. I pick up 3 hooks - and take them to the counter ask if they have 3 more - the guy looks come back and in a jerk tone says: "you ripped the prices of these, get out" .....
me: "GAIN???"
why would I even do that? then ask him to get me more? - what master plan can this be part of?
I was stunned - they did it to again - and worse this time - I wanted to know what it was about me that made them act like this?...

A nice little hardware store conveniently located in the heart of downtown Toronto, near the historical st. Lawrence market and the distillery district. They seem to have many different products and services, plumbing, light bulbs and electrical, fuses batteries, cil paint and supplies and many different things. I like to support local family operated businesses in my area, sure beats the large department stores where you have to walk for hours and hours to find what your looking for, if you are lucky to find it!
Unlike big department stores such as home depot and canadian tire, this great litte hardware store is very easy to find what you are looking for and they help you find whatever you are looking for in a minute rather than traveling 80 aisles just to find a screwdriver, they also give you knowledgable advice on their products, very convienient located downtown core Toronto near the St. Lawrence market
Old Stylel Hardware, This store is exactly like the small town hardware store in the town where I grew up. It's like going back in time. They have items I didn't even know were still being made and the people are friendly and unlike Home Depot they actually know what they are talking about when you ask a question.
I've moved to the North York area and I still find myself
going to this store once in a while.
I went to purchase an attachment for my washing machine & like to shop "locally", the young gentlemen who were there insisted that the attachments I needed would fit even though I "INSISTED" even more than they that I did NOTbelieve the attachments would fit - I left after they re-assured me over & over & over "don't worry - it will work perfectly" - only to get it home and have it NOT fit as I had told them & suspected. I returned one hour later to be informed that even though they insisted and just short of "guaranteed" that the attachments I purchased would be perfect"", that they had a "NO Return policy" on anything that was opened...and of course I had to open the attachments, so they refused to do anything.
BE WARE - DO NOT SHOP HERE
- in addition to the above they did not care at all that I had just paid $40.00 for nothing and "giggled" when I told them I would not be back.
