I recently organized a last minute get together with my extended family. We were pleased with the warm welcome & the great service at The Longest Yard. We decided on assortment of appetizers. Our special request for well done wings on the grill were perfect (I highly recommend)! We also asked if they could provide a large salad for our table instead of individual servings since we were ordering an assortment of foods for the whole table. The tiny burgers were a hit (flavourful and moist)as well as the spinach dip. The evening was jovial and delightful - just what we needed!

Poor Service and Poor quality food

The servcie was absolutely terrible as the staff acted as though they were doing you a huge favour by seating you and taking your order. The food quality was very poor, small quantities of nachos, dirty atmosphere. I live in the area and will not be going back.

Favourite place since 20 years!

I lived in Leaside in the late eighties, coming from Germany. This was my favourite place. And it still is. Visiting Toronto every year, The Longest Yard is one of the first places I'd go. Nostalgia? Maybe. But a fine one!

Lamb burger was thick and moist (daily special). Salad was crisp and fresh. Wings were plump. Great fries. Nice atmosphere. Hear the new Longest Yard on Bloor Street has the same great food, though different design.

Food is mediocre at best. Servers were not friendly. Overall atmosphere was stagnant. I think the beer lines could use some cleaning.

This restaurant is not what is advertised; the food was mediocre, the service was terrible and the decor is stuck in the 70's. I am not a fussy diner but I do expect a certain level of service that isn't surley and food that is palatable. I live in the neighbourhhood and will not be visiting this restaurant again.

Good neighbourhood pub to take your young family for dinner. Staff are accomodating and 6pm time frame had as many kids (under 7 yrs old) as adults. Have high chairs and offer crayons for kids. Limited menu for adults and kids but good overall environment. Lots of TV's to watch sports on in the evening as families depart and traditional pub crowd arrive.

Best Restaurants for Father's Day in Toronto

If Dad wants to get out onto the golf course or watch the game in the afternoon, brunch is a great way to show him you care and still let him have his day. And both locations of The Longest Yard are offering a great spread this year - your choice of vanilla and blueberry pancakes, stuffed french toast, breakfast sandwiches including a Monte Christo, made-to-order omelets, eggs any style, and five varieties of Eggs Benedict. Brunch for a king and you didn't have to lift a finger. Now that's a Father's Day you'll both remember.

Both locations will be serving Turkey Lunch and Dinner Sunday, October 12th. There will be turkey, potatoes, stuffing, and all the trimmings. The fun, casual atmosphere of TLY, and the relief of not having to cook this year, is sure to make this a memorable day.

Places to enjoy a pint of beer near Yonge and Eglinton

Places to enjoy a pint of beer near Yonge and Eglinton

Referencing both the namesake football film from the ‘70s, and a tall drinking vessel, sports and beer are at the heart of this restaurant, south of Eglinton on Mt. Pleasant. The pub food is well above average and they cater to groups looking to take in a hockey or football game. You’ll be just as well-served if you’re stopping in for a quick pint from one of the dozen or more taps.
