I have to say the white wine sangria was great but 10 dollars a glass is really pushing it. Wouldn't pay that much for it again. The pizza had very very little cheeze. The dough was dry and they really scimp on the toppings. The waitresses have a lot of attitude and they are old and not friendly. Some indian guy who works there tried to take our food before we were even finished.
Went to Little Italy last night with some friends.First place we went to was Vivoli and had to wait 15 minutes for a table when the place wasn't even busy.Once we were seated the server took another 15 minutes. We were seated on the rear of the patio and could smell the garbage at the side of the place. We ordered some pizzas as appetizers and was disappointed by the soggy mess we received.When we complained we were told that it was a specialty pizza.Still had to pay despite our complaints. First and last TIME ever!!!
My boyfriend and I went to Vivoli with friends from out of town on a fall weekend night. The wait for a table was not bad at all and we were sat in a room with a view of the wood-burning pizza oven. The server was a very friendly girl with a lot of recommendations for foods and wine based on what we were looking for. We ended up sharing the antipasto platter for a starter which was more than enough for all four of us. I ordered a pesto pizza with sun dried tomatoes which turned out to be one of the best tasting and most unique pizzas that I have ever had. The entire group was happy with their entres and the dulce de leche cheesecake that I shared with my friend was amazing. Atmosphere was very urban and the music was great for a younger crowd. The place was packed and we were there for hours. It’s good to know that Vivoli is open serving till late.
We arrived in the early evening. The place was relatively quiet with just a few small tables outside being occupied. We were greeted by the hostess & asked if we could sit on the patio, she was a little bewildered with the idea but we suggested putting two side by side tables together & giving us a high chair. We were seated at a bare table with no settings .We sat for a while & then our server appeared, I asked for some bread as our toddler was very hungry and we were told that they were "out of bread" An Italian restaurant with no bread ? She informed us they were waiting on more from the bakery. We ordered drinks and appetizers and when I asked what the soup of the day was I was met with a blank stare & a promise to find out.We finally were given some very thinly sliced bread. We ordered our meals & I asked if the marinara pizza had any cheese on it, she thought so but would find out.......After a long while our apps were delivered by a different person.The soup was watery with a few small diced vegetables and no flavour, we managed to borrow the salt off of another table to try to make it a little more palatable. The platter itself was impressive as far as a piece of china goes but that is where it stopped. The cheese was very thinly sliced and the anitpasto just average. We still had no side plates or cutlery but after flagging down a bus boy we were rewarded with some. We were starving at this point and ate our apps.Then we waited, & waited,watched later arrivals get their entrees, watched the restaurant get busier,waited some more & then finally found our server & asked for our meals.We were told just "2 min". After about 10 she brought out the pizza with a burnt crust and surprise,No Cheese ! She never had gotten back to us on that one. It was basically dough & sauce & very dry. Our four year old would not eat it & our toddler at this point was pretty darn fed up. It had been over an hour since we had ordered our meals. Our remaining entrees had still not arrived so we asked to see the manager.She came to the table. My husband asked why our meals were still not out, went over how long we had been waiting & alas ! The meals appeared, the manager said " they are here now " & vanished. The penne was just one step off from being raw, it was so hard it could actually break and not bend. This was for both penne dishes & the eggplant was so salty it was inedible, the sauce seemed to have reduced to a point where it was a concentrate. We summoned the manager again & she told us that this was their " standard" for cooking penne ! I know al dente, I am half Sicilian & if this is their standard they are serving a whole new version of pasta.The manager then told us with a very unapologetic tone that she would remove the entrees off the bill, we paid the balance of $75. We left hungry.
When we entered, it was quiet but it still took a few minutes to get seated. The drinks were good, the Caprese Salad was very good. The pizza was bland and below average, the flavours did not combine and some cheese was just placed on top before serving, and cold. The manicotti was okay but also very bland. Staff would be overly attentive and then unattentive. Not impressed with the salt and pepper shaker (from chinatown) placed on the table when we asked for pepper. Overpriced for the quality and flavour you receive. Layout okay, but slightly tacky decor for a college restaurant.
It's the best restaurant I've visited in years. The food was mouth-watering and the service was impeccable. The hostess was gracious and our server was helpful from beginning to end. The value can't be beat in Toronto. I will definitely be going back. It's my new favourite restaurant!!
Just the second we (wife and I) entered, we were met warmly by the host. We thouroughly enjoyed our meal and even stayed for drinks at the rooftop paio. We recommend this gem on College and can't wait to go back!

We have eaten at Vivoli a few times and it is always consistent. Great service, great food.
Seated right away with a reservation. Service was a little slow due to Winterlicious crowd. Salads were lacking flavour required more dressing. Portions were generous. Will return.
When we got there for shortly after noon, the staff were still wiping the sleep out of their eyes. It was freezing cold inside and dead quiet/awkward. The sangria was excellent, the server was pleasant and the entrees were great. With dessert, espresso would have been nice to accompany it, but apparently this "Italian" restaurant's espresso machine was out of order due to a grinding issue (easy fix - buy a temporary grinder?). I sense some management/owner issues. The restaurant's chefs and wait staff are great.
Winterlicious meal, food was alright, not overly impressed. Good service though.

We are very upset that Vivaldi was closed for Thursday lunch after we confirmed our booking! You should have warned us that lunch was not available for that date to save us the cost and time of a futile trip. We will not recommend your restaurant if this is your disregard for customers! Food was mediocre at best. Pasta was tasteless. Sauce had no flavour. They ran out of food on Winfterlicious menu even though we were there early in the evening. The restaurant was s noisy we felt like we had to shout to be heard, even though the restaurant was only a little over half full. Service was slow but not all the wait staff's fault because they were way under-staffed.
Our server was great but we were quite chilly and were disappointed in the new menu. I've been coming here for years and I usually leave very satisfied but aside from the pizza, the only thing on the menu I would eat is the penne a la vodka and seafood linguine. The white sangria wasn't that great either, unfortunately. Just didn't feel like the vivoli I once knew.

The food quality and portion sizes were great. Had the calamari and was amazed by the the offering.Pricing was very reasonable and they had a wine promo going that gave a 25% discount on wine. Never heard of this before, but did not balk at the offer!

Vivoli was wonderful! We were there for the wildcard game - Blue Jays v Orioles and sat upstairs. I was disappointed at first because they said they were not going to open the second floor for service, but was very happy that they did. It was packed! Vivoli is an excellent alternative to going to a sports bar to watch the game. Great atmosphere, excellent service and amazing food! Try the sangria - best in the city!
eggplant and seafood vivoli were tasty and well prepared and nicely presented pizzas were a bit disappointing and somewhat ordinary. crust on both was a bit too chewy and sauce a bit bland price was fair and moderately priced wines were also a nice surprise
Food was delicious. We would definitely come back and tell our family and friends about this restaurant.
We were surprised that the menu on the website doesn't match with the menu at the restaurant. 75% of what is mentioned online is not even served at the restaurant!! Food overall was good. Service was not to the mark perhaps due to many clients on the weekends. They also need to a bit more generous in providing proper plates and cutlery.
This is a very reliable restaurant with reasonable food. My friends enjoyed the pasta and grilled calamari. Very generous portions! (Improve the bread please).
Dad ordered red wine, got white. It was eventually (and seemingly begrudgingly switched). Dad was also told his meal came with salad, but instead came with steamed veg. Not a big deal, but again wasn't what he expected. Otherwise the food quality was excellent and the restaurant had a great vibe. Not sure if the wait staff was just caught off guard by our early seating (6pm arrival), but it seemed like our server just wasn't up to speed yet. Will likely not come back. Just too many places in the neighbourhood to risk another mediocre experience.
We went here for my Mom's birthday and we had a great time! Nice and calm ambience with a cool patio to enjoy on a summer day. Leah was our waitress and she was friendly, attentive and warm. Our food was fresh, delicious and I would highly recommend.

The server was consistently inattentive. At every stage we needed to ask for her attention, for example we waited 10 minutes for her to come and take our drink order and then again had to tell her we were ready to order food. We ordered an appetizer that never came. We had to ask for her attention when we were ready to order desert and we had to ask twice for the cheque. My guests thought their food was mediocre at best and I was thought mine was good but merely look warm.
Have been a customer for a long time. Will be looking for a change. The pasta was over cooked very disappointing. The waiter was curious and pleasant. Wasn't was what we had hoped this time around. Just ok ..
