Fixed my A/C, tuned my furnace to match tonnage
My A/C died on the Friday before the labor day long weekend. I called my original installer, they said all their techs are booked and won't be able to do anything for me until Tuesday. I called a few more places and got the same story until I got around to Dunn. Dunn's tech, Dave, came in 30 minutes, root caused the problem to a capacitor and possibly some loose wires from the original installer, fetched a replacement capacitor from his supplier in 15 minutes, and got the A/C compressor running again. Then he noticed how cold the return line was and suspected insufficient furnace airflow. He took a look at my furnace and saw that the controller was set for a 3.5 ton unit instead of the 4 ton that I have. He also mentioned that the duct work is a bit undersized for a 4 ton. He reconfigured the board for a 4 ton unit, explained to me how to change the airflow setting in the future if I wanted to, and made sure all the dampers were open. All in all, I felt like he was doing all he could to get me running correctly and save me from future service calls. That's great service in my eyes.
