At Devil’s Den Golf Centre in Brooklin, amateurs, professionals and emergency service responders all practice golf alongside each other. This unique mix of clientele is what makes Devil’s Den “one of the safest places to come and practice,” according to owner Jason Knill.
Formerly a farm, this space has now been transformed into a driving range and beach volleyball centre, and Jason couldn’t be happier with his business, even if he doesn’t get to play as much golf as he did before helming Devil’s Den. “Sometimes I’ll have some really good rounds,” he says, “but I don’t get to play as often as I used to.”
Golf is a popular sport, especially when the weather’s nice — suddenly fancies themselves to be Jack Nicklaus. Luckily, for aspiring stars, Devil’s Den has elevated tee decks so there are virtually no waiting times. Hitting stations are either grassed (north-facing) or grassed and matted (south-facing), with an end goal of 450 yards – if you can reach it. There’s a putting green where you can fine-tune your short game, with rough grass and bunkers to really challenge you.
