Great Atmosphere- Especially in Bar Area or Patio!

Great place for dinner... convenient location in Durham and close to the Movie Theatre for a night out. Atmosphere in Bar area is great, especially when a game is on. Patio is also great in the summer... had live accoustic band one night. Good food and tonnes to choose from on the menu- all for reasonable prices.

Missable

I went to Jack Astor's with my family for a family celebration. My wife and I ordered steaks, and although they looked quite nice, they lacked any flavour. Instead, we should have gone to the Lone Star just across the parking lot. However, the kids did enjoy their CHicken Club pizza and Jalapeno Burger.

This has always been a favourite of mine since they opened their Whitby location. Great food, great service! Once had pasta that was a bit cold because they were very busy, but it was promptly corrected and the manager even provided complimentary dessert for the trouble. I love how everyone there seems to work as a team. Also eaten in the bar and loved all the tv's and bottle throwing by the bartenders. As mentioned by others, be sure to make reservations in advance as this place can be very busy...but for a good reason!!

I have been to this restaurant on several...

I have been to this restaurant on several occasions and have never left disappointed. I have been with a party as large as 25 people, as well as an intimate dinner for 2. The service is incredible and the wait staff friendly and accomodating. We enjoy the atmosphere in the bar area, but also know when we want something a little quieter to sit in the dining room. We frequent restaurants all over Whitby, but we always know if we want a tried and true meal to go back to Jack's.
