I have been to most of the locations for Armando's and I love their food. I know if I take customers to any of their restaurants for Lunch or dinner I can always count on a good meal and great service. I would recommend them to any of my friends
Ordered a tray of penna pasta for 15 people with large salad n 12 rolls. When I called them back to tell them that I had missing rolls n that I think the tray was the size for 8 people was given attitude and was told that I was wrong when it clearly didnt look like it was for 15 people. Will not order from the walker road location anymore.
This is our usual pizza place. Staff is always friendly and efficient, pizza is always cooked right and hot! Have only been disappointed once in 11 years of ordering (when we got someone elses order). I called and the situation was rectified.
I advise everyone new to ordering Armandos, to go to their website and see what they have on special for that month AND BE SURE TO TELL THEM THE DISCOUNT CODE WHEN ORDERING.
This city has the best and oldest pizzarias around!. There are a few that stand out. Armando's is one of them. We had lunch there a couple of months ago and the minestrone was served luke warm and was seriously lacking in flavour. Veal parm with penne and meat sauce was much better but my penne had almost no meat sauce on it. Disappointing because I usually always get veal parm and it has always been great. Bad time to order it Im guessing. Recently I ordered pizza for pick-up and it was excellent. Now I try to pick-up a large Armando's pizza on Walker Rd. in like the middle of the afternoon once a week. I believe its the best pizza in the city and I am a pizza lover 100%! I stick to the top three but if I had to choose my #1, Armando's Walker Rd. original location is the place for old school Italian pizza.
Tonight I ordered from this place for the last time. We decided on pizza today and ordered what I thought was a "deal" from the location on walker road. We were told it would be 45 mins to an hour which was fine. At just a little after the hour our pizza arrived. What was supposed to be 29.95 "special" cost me 38 bucks plus tip. My roommate received the pizza from the delivery guy and headed up the stairs. When he put the pizza on the counter and opened the box it was crumpled to the back with the last few rows stuck to the top. We promptly called and let them know we were not happy. Without asking they offered to drop off a second pizza (with no mention of how long or what to do with the original) after about 15 mins we decided to eat what we had as we were both starving and he didn't say they would be coming to pick up the pizza. About 40 mins later a driver came with a replacement pizza and asked for the ruined one which we ate about half of which wasn't stuck to the box. Since we had Eaten some of the pizza we offered to pay for it. The driver said we may be paying him not enough and had to call the boss. The boss Said to charge us 20 bucks. Again made the mistake of not opening the box and same thing happened to this one just not as bad this time. I took photos this time and will be sending them to the wonderful people at Armando's. A reminder to all check your pizza when at the door as not to suffer the same fate
We decided to visit this restaurant for a nice dinner in LaSalle, they offered what sounded like a good special of chicken, veal or eggplant parmigiana, attempting to support our mom and pop shops. Unfortunately this was our third visit and our third disappointment. The service was terrible, misleading, and made for a very uncomfortable dining experience. Our daughters pizza from the children's menu was the best food on the table. We hate to flag this as a bad experience but hopefully someone there takes a look at what, whom and how they are serving their menu. Maybe you should bring in undercover boss to see what is representing Armando's in LaSalle? It's a disappointment to what Catalano's used to provide to our town.
Can you please tell me what was misleading?
Also what exactly happened with the service?
You say 3rd visit, how were your other 2 visits?
Our staff had Christmas party here and we were double booked by the establishment. Instead of admitting they made a mistake they refused to serve us coffee, dessert or anything after dinner. Instead of apologizing we were told you have ate now get out. The owner was extremely unprofessional and you couldn't pay me to go back there.
Only good thing is the atmosphere..
Pizza is mediocre, nothing amazing. They do not know how to cook steaks at all. Ordered medium rare received blue bloody steak. Expensive and over-hyped. Bad drink selection. Poor service and staff. Desserts tasted like frozen McCain chocolate cake.
