Rose Marie Randez has always been drawn to fashion. In fact, it could safely be said that fashion is her life. The love story began when she worked as a sales assistant. One thing led to another and as she was beginning to flourish in that job, a friend encouraged her to go into business for herself. "That's all I knew how to do and I was doing it well, so I continued on this path," she recalls.
As the fashion enthusiast tells it, she opened her first small kiosk on Sainte-Catherine Street where she sold unique outfits she would bring back from her travels around the globe. It was an immediate success. Since its opening, Boutique Mousseline has been located on Laurier Street West. "I came to Montreal with my parents when I was 14. I love the city," says Rose Marie, who was born in Bayonne, in the southwest of France.
"It has been the meeting place of fashion buffs for a long time," as indicated on the brand’s website. Mousseline was born in 1980 and has not aged since. Its identity is both singular and cultivated, just like its customers. The shop windows often provoke reactions, and really reflect the spirit and the creative style of the shop.
Isn't it annoying having to wear your old mix-and-match suits? It's time to remedy the situation, and discover some new shops with unique local designer brands on your next shopping trip — the city will envy that new jacket! You'll find only the cream of the crop of Montreal shops for classic and high quality garments here.
