Great hole in the wall!

Right in the center of downtown , I had never seen this place but it was recommended by a friend , so I decided to try it out. No signs outside really so you need to know it is there. We even had trouble finding it knowing it was there! Very <<english pub>> menu and everything is absolutely delicious! Service is great as well and ambiance is quite fun . I had the cod, and I am going back sometime soon for the same thing!

8-minute walk - Retro right down to its cocktails, the Taverne offers a menu that is simple, but also simply delicious! You’ll feel like you’re stepping into another world filled with good things to eat (hello mashed potatoes and Cornish hen!) as well as drinks to die for. At just 8 minutes’ walk from the Centre, you can have a pleasant stop here before going to see your show.

For the English brunch on September 4, chef Éric Dupuis will be emerging from his tavern, dating back to 1927, to offer a sweet and salted porridge accompanied by dried beef and a squash chutney.

Montreal’s best first date spots to start something special

Montreal’s best first date spots to start something special

Dominion Square Tavern was built in 1927 as a hotel tavern, and today it’s still reminiscent of a 1920s speakeasy right in downtown Montreal. Their British fare is delicious but this place is all about the cocktails, making their own tonic water and ginger ale. It’s a marvellous gem that sadly few people in Montreal know about. We would be instantly impressed by someone who took us to this whimsical spot for a date. The atmosphere is perfection!
