Great hole in the wall!

Right in the center of downtown , I had never seen this place but it was recommended by a friend , so I decided to try it out. No signs outside really so you need to know it is there. We even had trouble finding it knowing it was there! Very <> menu and everything is absolutely delicious! Service is great as well and ambiance is quite fun . I had the cod, and I am going back sometime soon for the same thing!

Built in 1927 as a hotel tavern, you walk into Dominion Square Tavern and you feel like you’re entering 1920s Chicago, right in the shopping district of downtown Montreal. The plates, glasses and even the washrooms show an unparalleled attention to detail. Their Canadian Old Fashioned is the best in the city, and this cocktail bar is also an English restaurant with some delicious dishes. Unfortunately they’re only open until midnight 7 days a week – we wish they were open later – but be sure to check them out!

This is where to go if you’re looking for a more upscale pub experience. Choose from traditional pub meals like fish and chips, or burgers and fries, and add an old-fashioned cocktail or beer to the mix. The trendy setting will make for a great Father’s Day treat.

Dominion Square Tavern, one of the most atmospheric places to grab a drink downtown, also boasts an admirably extensive food menu. Right off Saint Catherine's, the vintage 1920s-style space exudes an intriguing retro class (complete with many period-appropriate mustaches) in which to enjoy various well-prepared meat and fish dishes. How about a Scotch egg to start? For the Anglophile, there're even bangers and mash.
