Une brigade trippeuse des aliments et des saveurs

Le menu annonce un festival de saveurs et le visuel de toutes les assiettes ne rend pas la tâche de choix plus facile ... Ici - beaucoup de classiques comme le gravlax maison, le tartare, le fish&chips, l'entrecôte, les charcuteries maison (mais il y a aussi de plats végé ...) mais c'est leur façon de les apprêter et les présenter qui compte .... Le menu change régulièrement. La boucherie est au coeur du resto ! Autre mention particulière pour ce resto: les plats à partager à 2, 4 ou même plus (comme un cochon entier - sur commande) Bémol - stationnement toujours aussi difficile sur le Plateau ...

Delicious and centrally located

This please is absolutely amazing. A great wine list, great service and most importably delicous french cuisine. Love it, would go back. Great for a romantic evening or with a group of friends. Heart of the plateau.

De la qualité à prix raisonnable

Un très bel endroit au coeur du plateau! Le décor n'y est pas extravagant, le service, efficace mais manquand un peu de chaleur. Ce qui nous séduit en tout premier lieu à la salle à manger, c'est l'immense ardoise sur laquelle se décline un menu des plus appétissant. Des produits frais et de qualité sont utilisés pour la confection de plats créatifs et délicieux. (Le tartare de canard était succulent en entrée) La sélection de vin est excellente. Laissez vous tenter par le sandwich à la glace de pistache. Délicieux.

We loved our dinner at La Salle à Manger! My husband and I went for our anniversary and it was such a treat! The waiter poured us lovely glasses of champagne "on the house" to celebrate. The wine list was lovely and the waiter was very knowledgeable on the choices and allowed us to taste a few to choose. My husband ordered squash soup and duck as a main plate - both amazing! I had wonderful cheese plate followed by squash risotto - also fantastic. We will definitely be back - goes on our list of one of our favourite restaurants in the city! Merci!

The staff here are amazing! Extremely friendly and welcomed us as if the restaurant was their own. From my 4 days in Montreal this was my favorite meal. The tuna poke was perfection, the oysters superb and fresh and the wine recommendation by our server was perfect. I can't wait to go back!

Amazing loft. It was beautiful, elegant, and comfortable. However, the pull out couch was extremely uncomfortable. I was essentially sleeping on springs and had to put the clock cushions over it which was a bit awkward. Lovely staff though and very helpful and accommodating concierge

I don't think there are enough superlatives in the English language to adequately express how fantastic an evening we had. The service (Véronique) was exceptional and absolutely delightful! Her passion for the food and wine were absolutely contagious. And the food - oh my goodness! The food...I'm still dreaming about it a week later. My family, who was here visiting from Switzerland and Portugal, were utterly floored by the food. All I can say is go - just go and treat yourself to an awesome culinary experience!

The waitress was quite unpleasant, bordering on rude throughout the meal. Then suddenly when it was time to pay the meal (and her tip)... she was all smiles!

It was very busy and we had to wait for our reserved table, but the extremely nice host brought us a glass of sparkling rose on the house, which was very generous. After being seated the waiter came to ask if we had any questions. We had none but the waiter didn't come back to take our order for another 20-25 minutes. We got our food quickly, but as soon as we were done they took everything away without asking, even the bread. We would have ordered more, but no one came around to check on us for nearly 30 minutes. We asked one of the servers for another basket of bread because ours was taken away, but they forgot. Finally we got bread again and we needed to ask to order dessert. All in all the food is great and some of the service was on point, but we felt forgotten about/neglected for most of our sit-down dinner.

Tasty salmon tartare with a harissa kick accompanied by house pita bread and nice salad with marinated veggies. Delicious snow crab bisque (but not quite hot enough when it got to the table). Pimm's cup to start was super refreshing and I enjoyed a nice glass of Barbera. The house bread with nuts & apricots is divine. The waiter wasn't very friendly, in fact, he seemed almost annoyed that he had to serve us...

We were a table of four. Two of us were served the wrong dish. Buy the time that was corrected and our proper order had been served, the other two people in our party had finished their meals. There was not much apology or anything done to really rectify this situation. The halibut was overcooked, dry, and under-seasoned. The duck was undercooked and chewy. The restaurant was extremely loud. Given the price point and cost of this meal, we expected much better food, and more attentive service. We will not be returning.

The food and wine were brilliant, tuna tataki and chicken liver raviolo especially. Our server was great, he gave us great advice in terms of how much we should order and when I asked about the orange wines he brought down a few bottles to try before ordering - wine is a massive strong point at La Salle a Manger. Fantastic meal all round. Service was excellent. The sharing deals on the board look like great value too. Can't wait to go back.
