Whether it’s a case of the common crack or rare “touch” disease, Mehdi Alaoui can usually figure out what’s ailing your device before taking a screw to its back plate. “It’s kind of like being a doctor,” explains the 29-year-old co-owner of Rapifix, a no-frills electronic repair shop located in the vibrant Montreal Plateau. “You tell him, ‘It hurts here, I’m getting up late or I’m drinking too much water’ and he already knows what the problem might be. It’s the same with your devices.”

Mehdi and his business partner, Kyle Khoury, have been running Rapifix since January 2016 and have quickly built a reputation as two of warmest and most transparent electronic engineers in the city. From repairing a cracked iPhone screen to micro-soldering a coffee-damaged laptop back to life, the Rapifix duo can help you get back on your digital feet in as little time as humanly possible. “If something about a repair is bothering us, we’ll both stay up all night trying to fix it,” adds Mehdi. “So, we always push the limits to make sure our work is perfect.”
