This was my second time going to Le Saint Amour. It was every bit as good as the first time. This is probably the best restaurant in Quebec. The dining room is beautiful. The food is top shelf. The service is as good as it gets. Every part of your evening is perfectly timed. Your never looking for your waiter. The wine list is extensive. This is a place for special occasions. It's not cheap, but it's worth the money. Jack M Maine

The evening was perfect in every way. The room is romantic, the discovery tasting menu is sublime, and the service is impeccable. It was a five star evening in almost everyway. We would suggest a at least a minor dress code to prevent customers from wearing tee shirts in such an elegant atmosphere

The food was incredible, equal to anything we've had in France. The service could not have been better. Next time we are in Quebec we will definitely go back.

One of the best dining experiences of our lives. The host who seated us was gracious. All the service staff were professional and caring. The food was off the charts fabulous. We would have liked to stop and thank the host and the chef at the end, but had to run to answer some phone calls. Please thank everyone for us. You have a gem here, and your team deserves all the credit.

My wife and I had the Inspiration menu, $68 per person, not including wine Cons: 1) our waiter gave impression that he was a stand up comic, just would not stop his act 2) our bottle of Sancerre was placed into ice bucket, every few minutes , he would take it out and later put it back into the bucket. Repeated this action 7-8 times, maybe this was part of his comic act 3) Received both soup and terrine within a short wait, however the main course took over an hour. They were serving others , provide quick efficient service to regular clients first and let new clients wait and wait.4) my Quebec grain fed veal striploin was extremely tough and not worth the price. Comments : we spent 3 nights in Quebec city. One night we had diner at Le Saint Amour, other 2 nights diner at Chez Boulay 1110 Rue Saint Jean. Interesting to Note, this restaurant is owned by Chef Jean- Luc Boulay who also is the owner of Le Saint Armour. One night at Chez Boulay , I had pan seared milk fed veal medallion from Quebec which was delicious, extremely tender, nothing compared to Le Saint Amour horrible Quebec grain fed veal striploin. Sevice at Chez Boulay on both nights was 100% superb. Forget Le Saint Amour, go to Chez Boulay or to L'Initiale 54 Rue Saint Pierre, I would consider L'Initiale as Quebec City top restaurant and a case could be made for this Relais & Chateaux being Canada's best restaurant too.In summary : Le Saint Amour is cruising high on its past reputation but not much more.

One of the most memorable dining experiences that my wife and I have had. Rolande was gracious, appreciative, and attentive throughout our meal. The food was fabulous: creative and yet fundamentally classic. Whatever you order will be outstanding. Therefore, depending on what food and wine that you prefer that night, just order it! You will be more than just pleased. When in Montreal again, we will look forward to returnng to this wonderful restaurant. The Pierces

We expected more from this establishment. While the food was very good, the service was a bit lacking. The staff seemed to be going through the motions. The senior service manager reeked of cigarette smoke. Not pleasant in a fine dining environment. Veal from the inspiration menu was tough. How does that happen?

The atmosphere was decent but the restaurant could certainly use an update (very 90's). With that said, the food was top notch. By far, the best meal we've had in a very long time. The 'Experience' fois gras was heavenly, the mushroom appetizer was brilliant, and the steak was cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend this restaurant to friends and family. We will be back. Guaranteed.

Suggestion, when clients decide to have the discovery menu , you need to inform them that its at least 15 to 30 minutes between courses especially if like us sit down at 8:00pm accompanied with a younger teen who opted out of the same thing. The food was remarkable though .

This was our 20th dinner with St Amour. The food and staff are excellent. We request Jean Noel all the time, and Gilles is an excellent Front of the House manager. we will miss him in his retirement! There are few other restaurants in Quebec that we would recommend!

You've seen him as a judge on the show Les Chefs!, but Jean-Luc Boulay was already a well known gourmand in Quebec before he made a splash on TV. His dedication to "respecting the product" is legendary, and in his restaurant on Rue Sainte-Ursula, he puts this respect to good use with a cuisine inspired by local ingredients. It even draws in stars like Paul McCartney!
