Just what you would expect from a great French restaurant. Food quality was terrific. Great ambiance. One minor service slip by forgetting to serve coffee. Would like to experience dinner menu if we are able to visit QC again.

Lucky for us we had been reading about where to eat before we left for our Quebec City trip. And we had made reservations at Saint Amour which happened to be across the street from where we were staying, Hotel Acadia. Saint Amour didn't disappoint. We went with the "discovery menu" and everything was delicious. Miriam was our server and she was awesome. She suggested the perfect wine to compliment our selections and our courses were brought out in a timely manner; not rushed, but not dawdling either, just perfect. The other staff, from the bread person to the utensil person were so professional, it seemed like things would just magically appear. Everyone was amazing. It was an all around perfectly magical meal that we will remember for a long time.

In one's lifetime, you are hopeful to experience a handful of true culinary moments that rise above all the others, our meal with Le Saint-Amour exceeded our expectations of service and cuisine. Although none of the presentations were simple in preparation, they were executed thoughtfully in balance and texture of flavors and composition of plate, even the interval amuse bouche provided a humble intermission between courses that provoked reflection. Spirit and Wine selections are borderline overwhelming, if you are not familiar with regional choices, or have the slightest hesitation regarding a course beverage companion, the staff is very knowledgeable and only happy to assist with your decision. The location of the restaurant is great, nestled into a residential area between the Citadel and above the shopping district of Rue St-Jean in the Old Quebec area, an easy and beautiful walk. I can only highly recommend securing a reservation with this extraordinary restaurant, and look forward to returning again to this restaurant!

A disappointing experience. Overpriced and underwhelming. Having dined in some of the best establishments on the globe over a period of almost 60 years, I do know the difference between good, poor and bad and this is poor.

This was our first meal in Quebec. We found the menu limited. The staff was very nice but we ordered a dry chardonnay & were given a sweet wine that tasted like cider. The dinner was good but the creme brûlée had a strange medicinal taste & we couldn't eat it. We told the lady who cleared it from our table. It should have been removed from the bill but it was not. That is customary in most finer restaurants. We dine out allot & were surprised. We however had several other good meals in town, one was at the Frontenac.

You've seen him as a judge on the show Les Chefs!, but Jean-Luc Boulay was already a well known gourmand in Quebec before he made a splash on TV. His dedication to "respecting the product" is legendary, and in his restaurant on Rue Sainte-Ursula, he puts this respect to good use with a cuisine inspired by local ingredients. It even draws in stars like Paul McCartney!

Associated producer: Laiterie Charlevoix - The reputation of Saint-Amour is second to none, and it certainly lives up to this billing. One of the best tables in town, its cuisine is inspired by French techniques but with a focus on homegrown products, prepared by renowned and friendly chef Jean-Luc Boulay. The festival menu: veal steak with shiitake mushrooms and Hercules cheese crème brûlée.
