Great Pizza

Stopped into Christina's for a quick bite after a 5 year hiatus, due to a relocation. In the past, the food was questionable, but I was pleasantly surprised by a recent renovation and above average food quality this time around. Not impressed by the smokers on the front patio, which you have to walk through to get to the front door. The wings were average, no complaints, and the pizza was definitely above average. Service was about the same as I remembered from the last trip, in fact, the waitress was still the same. It looked like it was time for her to retire.... All in all, not too bad.

Not so great...

My family recently moved to notl, and have good things about this restaurant, so we decided to give it a try. we went online and found the selection to be huge and ordered a few things for take out. as we opened the food at home we immediately found a thick wavy black hair (maybe christinas?) on the top of our spinach dip. needless to say we didnt eat that. the wings we ordered we not actually that bad, but seemed as if they had been sitting around awhile and thus pretty chewy skin. finally, our pizza....we got an assortment of topping...meat seemed as if it wasnt properly stored at night and reused for a couple weeks. they tasted like bad leftovers before they even had a chance to be leftovers :S i gave the food 2 stars because the wings were OK. service wasnt horrible for 3 stars, and the atmosphere scored a 2 because it wasnt too clean upon food pickup.

we love christinas!

I have been going to Christina's for years, and i can honestly say that every time i go, it's a great experience. the waitresses are always lovely, and i really enjoy the homey atmosphere. Although I admit that the service can be a little slow at times, i also realize that i am not the one cooking the food, or serving it. i, as a customer, understand that there are things that happen behind the scenes that the waitresses nor the cooks can control, and that everybody makes mistakes sometimes. as far as the food, i like that it's all home made. there have been a couple times when the food was a bit over cooked for my liking, but it wasnt anything that would discourage me from going back. i think some people forget how hard it is to run a business. lighten up! one bad meal isnt the end of the world!

I have been going to Christina's for years. The food is always good and fresh to order. I've been reading other reviews and the biggest complaint I've seen is that the service is too slow. I have never waited 2 hours for a meal. That is absurd!! I admit when it's busy on the weekends I wait longer than when I come in on a weekday but 2 hours is ridiculous. The servers are always friendly and the food is always consistent. Great value !! Great Food!!

i have been going there for years but over the past couple of years the service is so slow and it is the same old same old menue and it seems like the portions are getting smaller.We were in for a qick dinner after attending an event did not want to cook so stopped there and what turned out an hour dinner turned into two and a half.everytime we order wings they are never consistant , ordered them hot and they come too hot or medium.

Wow - we didn't even know it was there! We have eaten at the old Lakeshore location when we were younger, but now living further away from the north end we were thrilled to discover there is a second location in West St. Catharines. The food was great and it's a definite uprade in decor from the Lakeshore location. We had the pizza and wings special. The pizza was delicious and the wings were made to order just how we like them. We'll be back!

My wife and I had been meaning to try Christina's...

My wife and I had been meaning to try Christina's for quite some time. We had tickets to a show later that evening, but thought we'd have more than enough time to pop in and grab a bite. Waitress took our order, and quickly came back with our drinks and my salad. We waited for quite a while for or main courses, long enough to be worried about getting to our show on time. The waitress stated that our food would be out soon. After watching meals arrive at the tables of customers that arrived 1/2 hour after us, I went to another waitress and asked her to instruct the kitchen to box our food to go. Finally, after waiting another fifteen minutes, we went to the server's station to pay for our drinks and salad and leave. We were informed that our order was somehow lost. While they didn't make us pay for the drinks and salad, we were really unimpressed with the whole situation. Two hours of my life I'm not going to be getting back, all for a salad and an ice tea.

This review is for the new West side location...

This review is for the new West side location. Both are quite similar, in food and service (or lack thereof). We love Christina's pizza. We will drive from Secord Woods to Vansickle Rd to get it. But after eating in a couple of times (and remembering eating in at the original location) we will stick to take out. The service is insufferably slow. Even when there is nearly no one in the restaurant, the service is slow and the servers are quite inattentive. And if you order the Tiramisu, be forewarned that it will be frozen in the middle and yet somehow also be a very tiny portion.

The food was fabulous...homemade quality, and good portions. The homemade minestrone soup was a real treat...rich in flavour and loaded with vegetables. The service was adequate and friendly. This little out-of-the-way gem has decor that's a little tired, but it definitely feels like a restaurant with deep neighbourhood roots. The prices were very reasonable, and we felt like we received good value. Next time we will have to ask to meet Christina!

Regular customer since 1982 when they opened

My wife and I have been eating at Christinas forever.The food is excellent the prices are comparitive too any other fine restaurant in the region.The restaurant specilizes in Italian and all their pasta is homemade.The sauce is too die for and the menu is full of variety.I especially prefer the Lasagna I warn you,you won,t be sorry.

Declining Quality and Service

We have been regulars of Christina's for some time, ordering delivery once every few weeks. The last 2 times we have ordered we have noticed that the price collected by the delivery person was much more than what the woman taking the order over the phone had quoted for the 'special' (specifically said to include taxes and delivery) - about $10 more. Last time we ordered it took 2 hours to arrive (no apology or courtesy offered when calling or by delivery person) and pizza was re-heated/not fresh. Wing quality also gone downhill. Very poor value for money spent. It's very unfortunate, because this was about the only place in STC that you could count on for quality and good service. Does not appear so anymore - it's a shame.

Awesome Wings!!!!

The wings were cooked to perfection, not too saucy, just crispy enough! I had half hot wings which were amazing and half cajun which were just spicy enough. The wings were also huge! The sub was classic and delicious...but I was disappointed they didn't have whole wheat buns... still great though! The pizza was a little over-cooked but we still ate it. It was good but needed more sauce.

How rude

We love ther wings and Pizza and have been ordering for years then we called and orderd pizza and wings for a large party and they gave us a price. We went in with that exact amount of money too the penny. When we got there they told us a diffrent price which was 10 dollars more. We told them this is the price you quoted us on the phone or why would we bring this amount. They said who did you order from we said let us call home my cousin orderd and ask. they would not let us use either of there phones. and we had no other way of contating my cousin. We had to buy the food b/c everyone was waiting but we have told many people and 20 of there customers so far are not goingt back b/c of that it was awful and I used to love the food. There pizza isn't as good as it used to be either.

Ordered take out Pizza and Wings - amazing!! Usually don't like chicken wings but even I had several of them - the sauce is excellent and it's clear they care for quality. Food was hot, delivery was great and pricing not bad for the quality. Will now be a regular customer!

we have been getting our pizza from christinas for years...it is always good except for the over cooked pizza here and there. they always make my sub just the way i want it, they never get an order wrong!

Food was fantastic. The pizza is one of the best we've ever had. Fresh ingredients are obvious. Service was friendly, not overbearing. We'll be back!!

Tucked away on lakeshore rd in the north...

Tucked away on lakeshore rd in the north end of the city is this gem of a restaurant. the pizza was outstanding and the wings were quite good also. i think i'll be making regular visits from now on.
