We had our heat pump fail on New Years a couple of years ago. Called one company who came out and took out a part that was causing the heat pump to fail. So he hooked up so our electric furnace would keep us warm. It did of course, but we then used a lot more electricity- enough that the Hydro company called because our bill/usage had skyrocketed. Unfortunately, this company didn't deal with replacing a heat pump. We found one dealer who came out and said a particular part was kaput, so we needed to replace the furnace and the heat pump. and gave us a price. At that point, we figured if it was the whole system to replace, we should check out another quote. So one of the companies we called was Grand River. Bill came out assessed the situation. He found that that part could have been replaced for a lot less than the whole new system. In the end, we did replace the whole system, partly because there were government incentives at the time which gave us about a $1000 in rebates. And we appreciated Bill's honesty and expertise. Our system was over 20 years old and the heat pump compressor was not in the best of shape. Thanks Bill for the excellent service. Read more

Heating Contractors in Rock Point Provincial Park Dunnville ON

Is the heating furnace making those funny noises again? Is the central air conditioning system reaching all the rooms in your house? Are you looking to warm your feet with a floor heating system for those cold winter months? Furnace maintenance and furnace replacement is always in high demand, especially during the colder or warmer months of the year. How do you go about choosing the right heating contractor for your needs without loosing your cool?

Tips to find a heating contractor in Rock Point Provincial Park Dunnville ON

  • Reference check: The best way to choose the best heating contractors from a general listing is to compare experiences and referrals. A heating contractor should have no qualms giving you the name and phone number of clients they’ve dealt with in the past. Ask those former customers if they’ve actually hired the heating contractor in question, if they were happy with the services and if the job was done on time and on budget. When in doubt, contact the better business bureau.
  • How much will this cost? : When dealing with residential heating maintenance, furnace repair or a furnace replacement, expect to pay 1,000 to 5,000 dollars. Avoid surprise costs by asking your potential heating contractors to do a free onsite inspection of your home’s heating and cooling system and to give you a written estimate of the types of heating services you’ll need. The heating service company should be interested in the amount of windows in your home, the insulation and the age of your furnace.

With the estimate, you’ll be able to compare heating contractors and choose the best price for your needs.
  • One brand contractors:  Some heating contractors and companies only offer a specific type of furnace or heat pumps. Using the services of these companies means paying more for a brand name. It also means you would be dealing with a heating company that specialises in a particular brand. You can avoid large bills by comparing the parts listed in your estimates.
