A March Break vacation... in Toronto? Well, why not? The weather should be warming up soon, and T.O. has no shortage of family-friendly attractions, from the Toronto Zoo to the CN Tower. And you and the little ones can check in at one of the city’s fine hotels – some of which have their own March Break deals and packages. Here’s a sample. Are the kids into Disney? The Magical March Break Package at the InterContinental Toronto Centre includes four tickets to the new Disney on Ice show, Follow Your Heart, at the Rogers Centre – which is just a short walk away. There’s also a buffet breakfast, free WiFi, a dozen mini cupcakes from Prairie Girl Bakery, a Beauty and the Beast tea set, two activity books and a $25 donation to the Sick Kids Foundation for every night stayed. For those who don’t care for the House of Mouse (or can’t afford it), the InterContinental also has a regular March Break Family Package that includes the buffet breakfast and WiFi, plus a $10 iTunes card, free access to the indoor pool and the Kids Zone (the latter on weekends only), one free in-room movie per night and a welcome backpack gift for the kids. The March Break Getaway package at the Sheraton gives you 15 per cent off the best available room rates throughout the month of March. All guests can take advantage of the hotel’s fitness room, indoor pool, lounge and spa. Dates available: March 1 to 31
Strathcona’s March Break Package features a reduced room rate and a complimentary breakfast for children up to the age of sixteen. Dates available: March 9 to 20 Rate: $222.72
Four Seasons is recommending its Toronto Getaway package for March Break vacationers. This deal knocks 25 per cent off the regular room rate for a minimum stay of three nights, and the hotel is also offering two free in-room movies on demand with popcorn during the Break. Dates available: March 10 to April 1
While this landmark downtown hotel doesn’t appear to have a package with a specific March Break theme, there’s a special Royal Slumber Party deal for families that includes a $50 food/beverage credit, a free in-room movie, free Internet and valet parking and even special Fairmont bathrobes and slippers for parents and kids to use during their stay. Chelsea doesn’t have a specific March Break package either – but it does have a lot of fun children’s activities planned for the Break, including costumed Pirate and Princess Breakfasts, a bouncy castle, arts and crafts workshops, movies, games, dance competitions, a Mario Kart tournament and more. And don’t forget the pool with the 130-foot Corkscrew Waterslide. Dates available: March 11to 18

For families who were hoping to do some shopping over their vacations, Holiday Inn Yorkdale also has a March Break Shopping & Breakfast Package that adds a $50 Yorkdale gift card and a Yorkdale VIP Travel in Style Card on top of the regular package. Dates available: March 10 to 19 Rate: $249.95
Although this north Toronto hotel has a March Break Getaway deal that knocks 15 per cent off the available room rates, your family may opt for the Toronto Zoo Package instead – this one offers tickets for two adults and two kids for the nearby zoo, along with two full adult buffet breakfasts and free parking. The latter deal is valid for arrivals from Thursday to Sunday only. Dates available: March 1 to 31
