Two Floors of Relaxing Salon & Spa Treatments

Adele Stevens knew she was going to be an entrepreneur. She didn’t know what her business would be, but she was sure that she'd be her own boss. She worked as a hairstylist for many years and when she and her husband decided to set up their own business, a salon and spa seemed like the ideal choice.

“My husband and I lived on the upper floor and we ran the hair studio and spa out of the lower floor for the first six years,” says Adele. ÇaVaBien Hair Studio & Day Spa opened in 1998, and in 2005 they moved off of the premises and renovated the upper floor into a spa.

What started off as a small operation grew into a flourishing venture over the years as ÇaVaBien became more and more successful. “I now have 52 employees. I started off with four,” says Adele. “Through the years it has been a growth process.”

Our philosophy is to always support our clients with their charity and community fundraising efforts. If it helps the community it is good for ÇaVaBien! - Adele Stevens, owner

Client Loyalty Programs

By separating the spa and hair salon on different floors, ÇaVaBien has created two different atmospheres. “The hair studio is more upbeat and a little bit louder,” says Adele. “The spa is quiet and tranquil.” This allows clients to enjoy the relaxation of a spa before heading down to have their hair done.

If you’re spending the day with ÇaVaBien Hair Studio & Day Spa then you’re in for a treat. As Calgary’s only spa with its own food license, you can enjoy homemade lunch with your visit. “We create menus for clients to choose from,” says Adele. “They have a separate eating area in the atrium where they can enjoy their lunch.”

ÇaVaBien strives to make all customers regular customers through special loyalty programs and packages designed around the most commonly requested services. “Most spas reward new clients, but after a while they forget their regulars,” says Adele. “Rather than just giving people deals for arriving for the first time we want to see our clients last and stay here so we continue on.”

A Supportive Salon & Spa

A large part of the philosophy behind ÇaVaBien Hair Studio & Day Spa is giving back to the community that supports them. They collect money throughout the year so they have a pool of funds available if a client comes in with a request to sponsor an event. At the end of the year, any remaining money goes to adopting a family in need and helping to make their Christmas a happy one. “It’s important because the clients are here supporting us," says Adele. "The least we can do is support them.”

ÇaVaBien also has a “frequent spa-ing” program that rewards regular clients for their loyalty. “This ensures our regular clients are rewarded every time they have spa services at ÇaVaBien,” says Adele. “Our philosophy is to always support our clients with their charity and community fund raising efforts. If it helps the community it is good for ÇaVaBien!”
