Opus Hotel

Yaletown’s Only Boutique Hotel

“We’ve redefined the property in a significant way,” says Nicholas Gandossi, General Manager of the OPUS Hotel, referring to the new lobby bar that he describes as a “warm, inviting space that enables intimate conversations, and has a vibrant feel that appeals to both locals and guests.” Craft cocktails in the evening, with live music on Wednesdays, plus DJs and special event nights; the bar morphs into a hip coffee bar in the morning serving Matchstick coffee, The Juice Truck cold-pressed juice and pastries from Cadeaux Bakery and Cartem's Donuterie.

Since 2002, the OPUS Hotel has appealed to both the hip business visitor and stylish vacation traveller looking for a central location in Vancouver. As a visitor to the city, save yourself the expensive taxi fare and hop on the Canada Line — it's about 20 traffic-free minutes from YVR and the Yaletown-Roundhouse Station is kitty-corner from the hotel.

Robert Bailey-designed guest rooms mean you won’t find boring beige décor; instead the place is saturated with bold colour, local art and all the amenities you could ask for.

Service First

“We went outside of our own borders to find someone to partner with,” says Nicholas of the hotel’s restaurant, La Pentola. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus offers 24-hour room service, with a Northern Italian flair.

Like any good hotel, a stay is all about exceptional service — imperative, no matter how nice the space is. Nicholas strives to create that by cultivating a team. “You find the right personalities, rather than just skill sets or experience, to put together a team that is genuinely passionate about delivering consistency. The hotels that do that 10 out of 10 times, they rise to the top. We provide the best boutique hotel experience in North America.”

4-Star from Forbes

For three consecutive years, Forbes Traveller magazine has awarded The OPUS Hotel with a highly coveted four-star rating, and Nicholas and his team couldn’t be happier about it. “We are an independent hotel, not a chain, so for us to achieve this rating as the only boutique property in Vancouver, that means a lot to us.”

Little touches in each guest room include retro candies like Pez and Poprocks on the pillows versus the usual foil-wrapped chocolate, iPads pre-loaded with the PressReader app and the hotel even offers free car service and complimentary bike rentals — a perfect perk for touring the nearby, internationally renowned Sea Wall.

With such impeccable service and care and all your needs met — even ones you didn't know you had — you may never want to check out.
